Been having problems with my monitor. it runs fine for about half an hour then it goes black and the message 'not optimum mode recommended mode 1280x1024 60hz' is displayed. I have been in to the settings on my mac g5 and changed resolution but nothing seems to solve the problem, can you help please
Follow steps in sequence:
1. Turn Off Monitor by pressing power button on LCD
2. Shut down computer
3.
Unplug power cable from LCD, Once power cable is unplugged from LCD,
press and hold down the power button on LCD for 15 seconds
4. Unplug the power cable from the back of Desktop Computer and Hold down the power button on desktop computer for 15 seconds
5. Plug the power cables back into the LCD and Desktop Computer
6. Power on computer and then power on LCD, it should work

Start your computer in a safe mode by pressing f8, then remove the display driver, restart your pc, then load the driver again

This is most likely a issue with your monitor, if you try another monitor with the computer you shouldn't get this problem.
Is your lcd / monitor still covered by warranty? I would recommend you take advantage of that.

I suspect it is a hardware fault, try another monitor to confirm the issue. or try the monitor on another computer.
Normally, your computer settings don't change without you chaning them so this is unlikely a software issue on your computer, You could ofcourse try the lcd screen on another computer and see if you can duplicate the issue on another computer.

my monitor is the samtron 73v and has been fine for 18 months until this problem has come about. there must be a way to fix it through my computers system
