Hi. This is a generator problem. I saw your answer on the 5000 and thought I might ask here as well.
We purchase a used Huffy 5000 last week for some construction work in our back yard (barn building) The generator worked great. However, when we turned it on Sunday morning after the hurricane went through it wouldn't send out any electricity. We have no power now after the hurricane and could really use the generator, but it runs fine but doesn't send out the juice.
What could we do that could make it work like last week again.
Thanks.
Mark

If you purchased from a reputable bike dealer take it back. I have never heard of a dealer who does not offer a free checkup when the bike is a few weeks old because cables do stretch.
I don't understand your question. Are you asking if 147 VOLTS is too much at the receptacle? If so, yes - that's too much. Are you asking if 147 amps is too much to expect from your generator? If so, yes, that's far too much.
Hi men2cu...
Try this method, being you have spark and gas getting to the carburetor...
Get a can of starting fluid, and spray a small amount of it into the carburetor and then try to crank it again...if it cranks and runs then problem fixed...if it cranks and shuts off right away, then you have some trash in your inlet valve in your carburetor.
You can try tapping the carburetor lightly with a hammer and sometimes that will dislodge the float needle if it doesn't dislodge the needle valve then the carburetor will have to be disassemble and cleaned.
Once this is complete your generator should run fine.

Ask to see the sales receipt if you are in need of proof of purchase date. Even contacting Husqvarna to ask when it was registered may not be the actual purchase date. I saw a question not long ago about a saw that was purchased new that had been out of production for a couple of years. It is possible it sat on a dealer's shelf for a period.
Looking at the serial, it was manufactured in 1998, the 51st week (Dec), and was the 4th product that week. HusqvarnaUSA.com http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/ Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers) Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals 06 1500198 06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit year please contact Husqvarna for clarification) 15 = week produced – March 00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

I am with you on the start capacitator. I would look at the model and make of the motor and give mgf. a call see if they have one.
You do need the amps there to start these saws. Make sure it matches what your generator is putting out.
Please let me know what you find.
Same answer as the last time you asked, likely a flying open. If the rotor test proves that your rotor isn't opening up, test the capacitor on brushless models or the voltage regulator board on brush generators. Regards, Carl
