Hello, I have a EX-Z8 Exilim Casio camera. The last time the battery ran out I put it in the charger as normal. However instead of having a constant red light, the red light has a continuous flashing. This has no expanation in the handbook but it must be an error as when I take the battery out of the charger and put it into the camera again, the camera will still not switch on. I have not had this camera for long. And there is no other reason why it shouldn't be working. Many thanks, Michelle Barclay [email protected]

If the charge lamp flashes red it means the battery is faulty or the battery is loaded in the charger incorrectly. Take the battery out and check if the contacts are dirty - wipe them with a dry cloth and try charging again. If the error continues, you have a faulty battery and need to buy a new one. I found a link for cheap replacement batteries at http://www.mymemory.co.uk/compatible-battery/Digital_Cameras/Casio/Casio+Exilim+EX-Z8?gb=1&prodid=12068
You may find it cheaper elsewhere, but these guys include delivery. Hope that helps.

Battery flashing when charging why?

If the red light is flashing after inserting a NP-20 battery in the Casio Lithium Charger BC11-L, it means that the battery will not take a charge. Normally when putting the batterry in the charger, the light will be a constant red. After charging is complete, the red light will go out. Battery is then fully charged and ready for use.

My casio exilim ex-z60 wont switch on, I put battery in charger for hours and light flashed red constantly (overnight) so I plugged it into the computer with USB but nothing????

Thank you every one who posted solutions.
I was all set to try the 9 volt trick until i realised i didnt have one so i tried someone else's suggestion of constantly re-inserting the battery until the red light stays constant. Touch wood, but it seems to have worked.

Camera does not respond

I suggest you open the battery compartment and check the connections on the battery. It may be that they are a little dirty, preventing proper electrical connection, in which case you can clean them with a little cotton bud and perhaps some methylated spitits.

I have a casio exilim ex-z60 which I bought 2 yrs ago. I've had problems with my flash going off each time I turned on and off the camera, about 5 months ago. Now the flash does not work. Need help on how to restore the flash bulb or battery in the camera.

Malfunctioning of Digicam

Depends, if you are charing and the battery is flashing instead of steady then Casio will replace it if you have purchased in the last year. Could also be the brand and size of memory card. Casio only recommends Sandisc, Toshiba, and Panasonic. An EX-Z60 can use up to a 2 GB unless you have done a firmware upgrade for a 4 GB card. If none of those seem to help then it would have to be send it. Lens errors are easy to get on the camera and that can keep the camera from powering on. 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 2 and they will tell you where to send it.

Battery not charging

You need a new battery. That battery goes dead maybe its a factory defect its very rare this to happen but try to contact the Company to ask if you have a warranty for this unit. One more thing make sure that your charger is functioning.
