HDMI/ DVI inputs failed approx. one month after connection of Denon home theater receiver with HDMI pass-through feature "on." Gear successfully re-connected via component video inputs. Self-diagnosed via unit Service Manual as Main Board failure; diagnosis confirmed verbally by local TV tech. Replaced Main Board successfully, but this did not restore HDMI/ DVI inputs. Removed replacement Main Board and re-installed original Main Board. Now, upon initial plug-in, power supply relay clicks & green power LED lights. After approx. 2 sec., power supply relay clicks again, green power LED turns off, OPC LED flashes red at one-second invervals indefinitely. Have not performed further diagnosis other than making sure everything was reconnected following re-installation of original Main Board. Perhaps I missed something on the LED control unit (or broke a conductor in the ribbon connector between LV sockets on LED control unit and Main Board)?

Thank you for the prompt reply. I apologize for not having included my model number:
Sharp LC-37GB5U (we LOVE this unit!)
Correct: new problem is that it will not power-on. Following reinstallation of the original Main Board and seeing red OPC, I swapped the Main Boards again. This new power-on problem is now experienced with either Main Board installed.
I will re-check all of my connections within the next couple of days and report back to you. I probably need a replacement AV Board, but won't know for sure until I re-establish power to the unit..
    Thanks again!
    Mike

Digital inputs on AV unit had failed; replaced with used unit ($75 on eBay).

As far as the blinking red OPC light after my initial repair attempt, I discovered that I had accidentally peeled back some of the silver contacts on the FD, LV, and FC connecting cords (ribbon cables) when I plugged them back into their respective sockets. I was able to obtain replacement FD and LC cables from www.partstore.com; unfortunately cable FC was sold-out, but I was able to repair the original, and everything is working normally once again.

WORD OF CAUTION TO FELLOW AQUS OWNERS: If any of your newer home theater or BD/ DVD components has a feature to automatically turn itself on or off by sensing a digital signal from your TV, make sure these features are OFF!!! The two silver face Sharp Aquos models we have (both 1080i max.) do NOT have HDMI-control capability. I believe I damaged our Aquos' digital input by turning this feature of our new receiver ON.

I no longer run any HDMI signals through the receiver to the TV: DVR goes directly to TV's HDMI input, BD player goes directly to TV's DVI input. Only running audio signals through the receiver now (optical from DVR; coaxial from BD player). Works great!

Hi welcome to fixya
i want to clarify first the problem sir so as of now the problem with your tv won't power on then you are using again the old main board is that right ? when you use the new replacement main board the tv is functioning will the only problem is that the HDMI / DVI inputs doesn't work. and now you encountered power supply problem like won't start up or something that cut the supply in which the stand by indicator is turn off so as my idea it has a problem with the old board. but before you come up with the board making sure all the connectors coming from the power supply is properly connected to the main board as will as flexible and lvds cable for the T-con board is properly inserted.just let me know if is that what you are asking for so i can give you additional solution thanks for consulting the fixya.

How to connect a denon avr-e400 receiver to a televion

If the DENON has an HDMI output, and your TV has an HDMI input, then use a HDMI cable. Then, use the TV's remote-control to select "source" (or "input") as 'HDMI 2' or 'HDMI 3' (assuming that you have been using 'HDMI 1' to watch TV).

NO SOUND FROM 6 MONTH SHARP AQUOS 60" LCD CONNECTED TO DENON AVR 1312

Check to make sure that when you are on that input that HDMI shows up in the front display. If it does not, then you need to turnit on. If it still does not, you could have a problem with your HDMI board on your receiver not recognising the signal.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. The simple answer is the Denon home theater isn't able to convert the signal from your Bell receiver into an HDMI compatible format. You'll need to use either S-Video or the regular yellow cable to connect your Home theater to the television. The HDMI out provided would only work for the internal DVD player. This is a limitation of HDMI, not a problem with your home theater. You need HDMI in (or DVI in) to get HDMI out.

Connection problem with HDMI cables on Denon AVR-589

Hello,
I want to clairify you install, you sat you have I an HDMI cable running from the Time Warner Cable box to the AVR-589, going in to the TV/CBL input. From the Denon AVR-589, I have an HDMI cable running from the output to my Toshiba RV525U television.

Check the connection at the TV, if as you indicated above you have an HDMI cable from the HDMI out from the Denon to an HDMI output on the TV, if this is the case you need to have that HDMI cable plugged into an input on the TV not an output

No dish network sound through denon 1609 receiver

check the setting for the HDMI connection at the Denon you may have to assign the HDMI audio setting also on the front of the Denon while in the DVR mode press the input mode button on the front of the Denon to select auto and if that doesn;t give you sound you will have to connect a cable from the DVR optical.coaxial or analog audio output to the Denon and setup for that type of audio connection

HDMI XBOX360 Elite -"No Signal"

The connection order can be a key issue as to whether or not the HDMI signals will pass through the system. For best results the receiver should be turned on first, then the source device(s) and then the display. The reason for this has to do with getting the equipment to handshake properly for the HDCP protocol.

If HDMI video will not pass through your receiver, you may with to just connect the xbox using the component cables. Since component will pass through 720p and your TV is 1080i you should expect the same qualtiy and a more crisp picture.

Check the input selector on the TV, if you have audio only then it is a cable problem,
that means that cables are not connected in the right way.

Connecting my wii to my home theater

  1. Connect your set-top box HDMI output to the Xbox One HDMI input.
  2. Connect the Xbox One HDMI output to your A/V HDMI input.
  3. Connect your A/V HDMI output to the HDMI input on your TV.
  4. Notes
  5. This option requires that all devices support audio over HDMI.
  6. Surround sound from your set-top box will not be passed through the Xbox One.
  7. When you perform this kind of basic setup with an A/V receiver, you're passing both audio and video through another device. Depending on your equipment, there's a small risk of audio or video lag.
  8. Connect your set-top box HDMI output to the Xbox One HDMI input.
  9. Connect the Xbox One HDMI output to the HDMI input on your TV.
  10. Connect the audio output from the TV to the audio input on the sound bar using either HDMI or optical S/PDIF cables.
