Can't switch on

After 1 year of good prosperity, my IMP 450 is dead. I cannot switch on (neither on batteries nor AC adaptor) I even cannot turn charging on. I took bateries and adaptor from other one, but it's still the same problem. Sometimes (after about x100 pressing play button) it switch on, play music !...but going to shutdown after few mintues. Looks like something cuts power off. I've done nothing wrong with my IMP 450. It's just stopped working during normal using. I also have previous model (IMP 400) and using it for 3 years without any problems

Why My Inspiron mini will not start?

Hi,

It is unfortunate that the computer is not turning on. Request you to try following the below steps which might help:

    (1)Turn off the computer.
(2)Remove all the external peripherals like AC Adaptor, flash drives, battery, etc.
(3)Press and hold the power button for 30sec which releases the static on the computer (if any)
(4)Put back the battery and plug in the AC Adaptor.
(5)Let the computer charge for some time.
    (6)Try turning on the computer.
If the computer doesn't turn on then check hoe the Power LEDs on the system, battery and AC Adaptor react. Then I can check and help you further.

    Thanks and Regards.

Totally dead, replaced ac adaptor, which was dead too, did not help. still dead.

Hello, I am thinking that your battery needs to be replaced as well. Possibly because of the stress it took from your ac adapter issues. So, to check to see if the issue at hand is now your battery... 1) UNPLUG THE AC ADAPTER FROM THE LAPTOP. 2) REMOVE THE BATTERY. 3) PLUG THE AC ADAPTER BACK INTO THE LAPTOP 4) TURN IT ON.
If the battery was now the issue, your laptop should have turned on at this point.. If it did NOT turn on, then there is a different issue that we should troubleshoot. Let Me Know, ok?

Laptop won't staart up.

Hi,
Yes, it should run off AC power even if the battery is removed. Sounds like either the motherboard or your AC adaptor might be failing. I would start by trying the AC adaptor with another dell to verify it it's not dead.

Good luck,

Battery will not charge compaq presario v5000

I would try replacing your ac/adaptor (power plug) before troubleshooting any further. It sounds as if the adaptor is faulty. Check eBay, you can get a replacement for less than 10 dollars.

Does not start; no power indicator light

Take out the battery and then try the different ac adaptors. If you still get no lights on the laptop then the motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced. Just make sure that you know at least one of your ac adaptors are good.

If the adaptors have lights and they turn on then you know the ac adaptor your working with is good. Also make sure they are plugged into a good working outlet.
