In the instructions for converting to rear discharge, it mentions attached gaskets at both the top and rear openings. Ours have no visible gaskets, nor were any included with the parts. Also, the rear starting collar doesn't fit properly. It doesn't lay flat due to welded seams that stick up, and the screw holes don't line up.

SOURCE: The on line instruction for replacing Maytag dryer

My 1955 edition of the Maytag top popped off because it used the spring clamps you refer to. If there are screws there, you will have to remove them. Once the top is up, you will see how to remove the front. If you can get this far, the rest of the job will become self evident (I think) .If you need more help, let me know

SOURCE: washer does not start, replaced

Hello there and welcome to fixya
I am sorry to hear that you are having problems i will post some information on some more parts that need to be tested ok?
Washing machine is dead, wont start Obviously the first thing to check is that the socket is supplying power by plugging another appliance in such as a lamp. It is less likely to be the socket but you'd be daft not to check it out before calling an engineer as it does occasionally turn out to be a faulty wall socket. This is only necessary though if there are no led indicator lights lit up on your washer as any light that's on shows that the machine is getting a live and neutral supply from the socket.
The second thing to check is the fuse in the plug. Either put the fuse into something else and check the appliance still works or try another fuse that you know to be OK in the washer. Make sure you use a 13 amp fuse and never by-pass a fuse! If both of those are OK, then the most common cause for a washing machine that wont start is the door interlock, particularly if the mains lights on the washing machine has come on, but nothing works. However, the fault could also be in wiring to the door interlock or even the door catch not activating it properly, or the on off switch or the main control module. With some Indesit and Hotpoint washing machines even an open circuit heater or motor can cause the entire washing machine to stop working except the led lights.
You need to know what you are doing to trace this type of fault so if it isn't the wall socket or the plug you'd be better getting an engineer to trace it. Do not work on a live washing machine. Engineers should use a continuity test meter to trace faults with the washing machine unplugged and never test with a live washing machine.

I have a badger 9 garbage disposal unit, and it leaks after installing from the discharge outlet at the top of the discharge tube under the side flange. I replaced a badger 1 and I used the old gasket as...

Location of leak is not known for sure.
Sounds like leak is where tubular drain pipe connects to side of disposal?
If leak is where disposal connects to sink, typically this connection is sealed using plumbers putty.

Open following link for disposal instructions:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r6568559-post_photograph_fixya_questions_answers

1) If leak is at rubber gasket for tailpiece connection on side of disposal:
I don't know if your local home depot sells gaskets. Probably not sold separately.

2) Go to home depot and take rubber gasket out of a new garbage disposal box.

3) Or buy new disposal with a gasket, use the gasket and return disposal saying that part was missing..

4) To seal old gasket, use rectoseal white pipe joint compound.
Cover the gasket with rectoseal and then assemble parts.
Open following link above for photo of rectoseal.
I always use rectoseal on tubular drain connections for 100% seal first time every time.

How do you get the top down on 90 convertible

To lower the top. 1) open the drivers door and under the fiberglass cover there is a lever that will release the two pins that hold the rear cover down. 2) lift up the rear window part of top and reach under again to press button that will release fiberglass cover. ( there is also a button on the passenger door which is visible with the door open.) this is a electric relay switch which will produce a clicking sound and top will come up. 3) release the two levers on the front of the cover by pulling toward you. 4) fold cover in compartment and fold levers back to folded position.

Convertible leaks

Look for a plugged drain at both rear side panels. Water from the top can enter the car, but it is then discharged out thru drains. If the drains are clogged, you will have this problem. Same for any other Toyota convertible.
