Question about Whirlpool LSQ9544K Top Load Washer

Washer problem I am trying to fix my washer. I have a Whirlpool LSQ9544K. The top part of the agitator doesn't agitate. I need to know how to get the top part of the agoitator loose so I can replace the "dogs". I have them. Is there a special tool to do this with? I have the agitator off the machine. I just can't get the top agitator off.

Bottom agitator spins but top doesn't catch

Whirlpool ultimate care II agitator seems as if it is not woking properly
this is for the whirlpool washer,if you grab the top of the agitator can you spin it both ways without it grabbing,it should only spin one way,if you can spin it both ways you have bad dogs,the agitator cam kit part number is 285809 and it's around 13 dollars.pop off the center cap of the agitator,remove the 7 1/6 inch screw in the middle and pull off the top of the agitator to get at the dogs,you'll see them there are 4 of them,they waer down and the top of the agitator doesn't work.watch this video.

Whirlpool top loading cloths washer agitator is loose when it should be turning. how do i tighten it?
Sounds like you might have bad agitator dogs. Remove the agitator cap, theres a 5/16th bolt that needs to be removed then the top of agitator comes off. The dogs are 4 little gears with teeth on them, when they get worn the top half of the agitator doesn't move.

How to take a whirlpool clothes washer agitator out of the washer to be replace

  • Pull the liquid softener dispenser off the top of the agitator. Pull the clear plastic cap out of the center of the agitator. Use a ratchet and socket set to remove the hex head bolt from the center of the agitator. Lift the top half of the agitator out of the washer. Pull the bottom half of the agitator straight up to remove it from the drive motor shaft, and remove the bottom half of the agitator from the Cabrio washer.

    Whirlpool washer top load agitator does not work
    Whirlpool top load machines have a coupling beyween the motor and the gearbox..This coupling can fail with age or if the machine is overloaded. The pump should still work even if the coupling is broken..If this is the case then it's not a big job...You need a tech who knows the tricks, and it won't take long to fix....Good luck....Nomess

    The top part of the aggatator does not turn
    Washer has trouble agitating... Check the agitator dogs inside the top of the agitator, they are bad for wearing out, sometimes the agitator may only agitate one way when the dogs are worn out. This is an instruction sheet that came with the last parts I ordered for a Whirlpool/Inglis style direct drive washer agitator. If you need to replace your agitator dogs, please see this link for some repair aid.

    Whirlpool top loader washer not agitating
    Hi, Do you know if the lower half of the agitator is working? THere is a dog kit that might need replaced in the agitator to get the top half to work. If neither half agitates, there is probably a transmission issue. Start the washer with no laundry in it and see if either sections of the agitator work.

    Clothes mover of whirlpool top-loading washer is loose. Agitates.
    You need to replace the agitator dogs inside the clothes mover (agitator). take of the top then the cover, remove th bolt and take the top half off. you should see four "dogs" that need to be replaced.
