The shift button popped out and I am not sure of how to put it back. I have the sony model pcg-7h1L/

Hi there,
Some keys will break off when they pop out, others just have to be pressed back in place. If it popped off it should just be able to pop back in without any problems. If it broke off, you'll need to get the keyboard repaired or get yourself a new one.

I have a micro innocations kb730/kb740 and its messing with my computer and the buttons dont really work the scroller dont work or the backspace button. Everything pops up in a new window. What should I do...

The scroller and some of the top buttons will not work without the driver. Many other buttons do work fine without the driver. This is an old keyboard and I think they only made a driver for Windows 2000.

If the backspace key is not working they keyboard is probably defective.

How do you repair a keyboard button that has popped off?

Laptop keyboard keys will "pop" back on just as easily as they "pop" off.

place the key over the raiser. center it and give it a push. if the raiser or key sockets are not damaged it will just pop back in. Otherwise you will need to replace the key.

you can find boards on ebay. Replacing the board over the key is usually better. Many times people selling keys charge 7-12$USD a key where the board coudl be 20-30. Personally i rather get the new board but each has their own choice

The cover to my backspace key came off. How can I

The keys are pretty much snap on/snap off. If you can't get it to pop back on, then you will likely have to get a replacement keyboard. They are about $20 on ebay and take about 15 minutes to replace.

Keys on keyboard not working properly

go control panel, hit mouse and find default settings. hit default, ok and do a reset on your computer.
If you have a special install disk for your mouse when the system starts back up ,test your keys then install the disk(or CD). if this does not correct your problem , check to see if someone changed the language on your pc. If english, buy a new keyboard.

Keyboard problem

Try popping off the keys and cleaning area. Check to see if the rubber piece is in place. Try pushing the rubber piece and see if it works then. If not, try pulling the rubber piece off, cleaning below. Use a finger nail to push the gray flat contact on the plastic board to see if it works there. might be junk or bad contacts. If you don't want to worry about it, remove the keyboard and search google shopping about the part number to find a replacement.
