My Toshiba 32AF41 television shuts off by itself. Before shutting off red horizontal lines appear then the entire screen turns red before shutting off. I have to unplug the television and plug back in in order to turn the television back on. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I have seen this problem before. It is usually caused by a malfunctioning color wheel. Replacing it should resolve the problem. Let me know if you wish to fix it yourself so that I can find you a replacement.
I have the exact think happening on my Samsung LN46A530 and it has just been 2 years since I bought it. There better be a cheap fix for this because a $2,000 product has to last a lot longer than 2 years.
the problem is vertical collapse,i am not so sure you can trouble shoot this on your own but you can send the board to eithor pts electronics or tristate module for repair
to get a price get the number off the sticker--left hand board(looking from the back) it will start CTC195---- write down entire number before you call them
the biggest mistake I did with this tv.all tubes need to be replaced and it burns a hole in ur pocket.no guarantee on tubes, sony aware of the problem but didnot recall these defective sets.
wow this set has several problems that cause almost the same symtoms. There is a b+ filter cap off the flyback that supplys screen drive voltage th the crt that gets leaky and gets warm when the sets on. Also theres a resistor that feeds the voltage that gets warm and a cold solder connection appears but its dosent look like a bad solder connection so just resolder it. as a matter of fact most of those largewr resistors in this set causes all sorts of complaints soI resolder most of them just to stop any problems and a friend in the tv business still told me in one case he had an intermittant crt. and x ray protection cuircut problems.. Hope this helps GOOD LUCK
I have the same problem, where TV gets diagonal red lines, shuts off. And Red light blinks on the TV. If I unplug the TV turns on again. Noticed if TV is running for awhile is not happen, only when I first turn the TV on
my tv is about 8 years old and sometimes the pictures snaps out and becomes green lines acrossed the screen .. sometimes a good smack on the side will snap the picture back.. the red light blinks while the green line is present
