Did you take it apart to clean it? If so, look towards the back of the owners' manual for instructions. Otherwise, call Dorel Juvenile Group (their phone number is on a label - usually on the side of the seat) for specific directions.
It is critical the seat be assembled properly. DO NOT GUESS!

Hi,
You can remove the lumbar support pillow when you feel baby needs more space - its needed for a newborn baby to keep them flatter, but once they need more room (normally around 4 months old) you can remove it.
The headhugger should be left in place as long as possible for maximum protection in a side impact - the lumbar support cushion can be removed as demonstrated in the attached image.
Short of replacing the carseat shell, as the handle is part of the shell, there would not be a way of fixing this.
As the shell is plastic, you may find that using furniture polish and a soft cloth to wipe over the handlebar will help make the scratch less noticeable.
The instructions for removal of the fabric can be found in the instruction manual. If you have lost your instruction manual please go to www.maxi-cosi.com and select the Axiss carseat to download a replacement instruction manual.
I have just downloaded the instructions for one of their cozy trucks at littletikes.co.uk I would expect the instructions you are seeking would also be available. Good luck.
