42H81 -- display's all green

I have an interesting problem with my 42H81 hdtv... its about 4 years old. HDTV works fine, that is, HD programming from comcast, or my xbox w/ an HD game, but any normal signal gets displayed in all green.... that is, all the rest of the cable channels that are not hd, and anything else on the analog inputs as well... anyone got any ideas on this one? Thanks in advance... -Alex

Power down all componets by unpluging power cords from wall for 60 seconds. This resets memory.

    If you're using component cables.

Otherwise, the TV might be at fault.

ELMO Visual Presenter (Model EV-2000AF) does NOT display COLOR properly onto HDTV monitor. (Appears Bluish or Reddish w/ 2 Composite Cables connected)

Those jacks you are plugging into on the HDTV are not composite inputs. They are component. The reason the color is not right is, you have to have a Red, Green and Blue connection.

The black and white picture from the 1 cable is because you are using a composite signal into a component green.

Big difference between a composite and a component signal. I hope this helps.

I have a Aquos Sharp HDTV Model LC-32D62U that is a liittle over two years old. I am experiencing a Green Sceen when switching back & forth between channels. The only way to clear the Green Screen is...

that is the TV reading the HD signal and basically telling itself to allow the HD signal. When that happens there is a flicker of green, or sometimes the screen goes black. It is annoying, but its not just your TV, its pretty much on all tvs. This won't be a problem once everything is HD.

Hello. I have the HDTV ready hookup for my xbox so all i have to do is switch it from tv to HDTV and it will switch over. My hookup has a green, blue, 2 red, 2 white, and a yellow hookup. i hooked in all...

pay attention on how you hook them into the xbox..and if you are sure this is the way ..than switch to another HD input on the tv ...usually they have 3 HD channels..but not all work ...cause ar eon different frequencies or something like that ..Just try them all ..be sure you make the right choice in the channels too on the Hd of the tv ..

Hi,
When you say "struggles to get a signal" I assume you are receiving HD programming over the air using HDTV antenna. If so, try to re-orient the antenna. Better yet, go to this website http://antennaweb.org
type in your address and it will provide you with the best antenna and antenna positioning based on your location.

If you are receiving HD programming via cable or dish, contact your service provider and they can best resolve your issue if the problem is beyond the loose cable connection in your TV's tuner input.
