You can usually find your WEP key from any computer that uses the router. Open the Network Options (in the control panel as Network Connections) and find your wireless. Right click it and go to properties, then Wireless Networks. Search for the SSID (network name) of your wireless router, right click and go to properties. The WEP key should be in plain text somewhere in that dialog box.

If you can't find it there, you'll need to find/set it through your router's web config. Plug in the router via an ethernet cord directly to your computer (through one of the numbered ports, not the internet port). Wait for a minute or two for it to get connected, then follow these instructions.

  1. XP: Go to Start>Run... and type cmd, then hit "enter".......Windows vista or 7: Open the start menu and type "cmd" into the quick search box, then hit "enter"
  2. Type "ipconfig /all" in the command prompt box. It should scroll a bunch of text. Find the one labeled either Lan, Ethernet, etc...but not virtual or wireless or wimax.
  3. Write down the numbers (with dots) "default gateway". It should look like ***.***.***.*** where x is a number (most likely it's 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
  4. Open up a web browser like firefox or internet explorer or opera, and type the default gateway in for the website.
  5. It will ask you for a username and a password. If you know it, type it in. If you don't know it, try the following combinations (written user/password). admin/admin admin/password admin/(blank password) administrator/administrator and other combinations. You can't get locked out. If you can't figure it out, go to step 7
  6. Find the "Wireless Security" section of the web config. You can also just do some searching because it's a good thing to know how to get around in there. Somewhere in there you'll find a section for "WEP key" or PreShared Key (PSK). Make it something memorable, or write down what it shows you in there. That's your WEP key.
  7. If you couldn't get into the web config, or you can't find the WEP key, you can reset your router to make it go away. Unplug your computer from the router.
  8. Turn the router over and look at the back, you should see a little hole with a button in it. You'll need a paperclip to hit the button.
  9. Press the button and hold it in for approximately 10 seconds. When the router reboots, try visiting the default gateway address again. If you still can't get in, or if the WEP key is still set, press/hold the button in and unplug the router, wait 10 seconds, then plug the router in WHILE HOLDING THE BUTTON, wait an additional 5 seconds, then release the button. This will reset your router to default settings, and will remove the WEP key.
  10. If you wish to reset it, find the setting in the web config and set it to something memorable, or write it down. It's STRONGLY RECOMMENDED not to leave this entry blank, even if you live in the middle of nowhere. Leaving your wireless open is just an invitation for anyone to use it for whatever they want, and you'll be the one to deal with the consequences.
Hope I answered your question!!

You can find it by logging into the router itself. Open a web browser, Visit the routers ip address
Typically 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1
If neither ip works, Click Start > Run > Type in cmd, Click OK, In the command window type ipconfig /all and press enter, Use the Primary dns or Gateway ip that it gives you and visit that in your browser.

Your router will ask for a password (hopefully you remember), If you never set one the username and password combo might be
admin with the password of password
admin with the password of admin
(blank) with the password of password

You will be able to find your wep settings in the wireless setup portion of the router..

btw wep is not secure encryption anymore, I would suggest wpa or wpa+psk

I need a code called (WEP) and i cant find it on my computer. I need this code so i can play my ps3 again. Help fast!

You need to get the WEP key from the router that you are using to connect to the Internet. On the Setup or Security screen there will be a Network Key or Password. That is the code your PS3 is looking for. Once you enter it you should be able to then get on the Internet.

How to connect a new psp to the internet

AOSS = Airstation One-touch Secure System

it's a propriatary solution from buffalo technology (www.buffalotech.com) for securely negotiating a wireless link to a base station.

experienced techies may say "big deal." true. but consider the layman who opens their new laptop and wants to link it to their wireless dsl router at home. WEP? AES? TKIP? huh?! enough alphabet soup to scare off the timid.

AOSS removes the user from having to know any of this. it automagically determines and configures the most secure connection. that older laptop that only supports WEP? no problem. AOSS configs the keys. that newer media station in the upstairs bedroom? AOSS will set up everything to use TKIP or AES.

NB- all this requires you have a buffalo tech AOSS wifi router AND a wireless adaptor driver that supports it too.

For connecting the PSP to internet you need a internet connection with wireless router
