I turn my dvd player on, it displays it's normal "cyberhome" display then it starts "reading" but there is no disc in the tray to read. It freezes here and I can't do anything, not even open the tray door. I just reset it in the back and turn it off. I deeply appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you so much in advance.
If you are lucky to have a normality relapse, maybe after resting the DVD recorder for a while, you could try 2 firmware updates found here - http://support.cyberhome.com/support_web.nsf/All_Docs/?SearchView&Query=(DVR%201500)%20AND%20(Downloads%20and%20Updates)&Start=1&Count=10 But theres a 99% chance that you're stuck in the initial setup mode(have you just puirchased it?) - if you wish to skip this setup press- > enter > return > enter - on the remote panel, make sure to press every button only once. If you wish to go through with setting up the date/time etc, then follown the instructions in this addendum to the manual: ftp://209.237.61.78/cyberhome/1500/manual/1500_add.pdf Good luck

sorry about the broken link, lets try again -
http://support.cyberhome.com/support_web...
All_Docs/?SearchView&Query=(DVR%201500)%20AND%20
(Downloads%20and%20Updates)&Start=1&Count=10
third time a charm -http://support.cyberhome.com/support_web...
It could be usefull to try the initial setup mode routine again anyway(see what i wrote up there), it might have jogged back to it somehow.
If I hear of a known manual way to open the tray I'll let you know, but in the meantime you can unscrew the screws, and open it up to look for obstructions.
Good luck!
Got it!
"1. Unplug the player.
2. Flip the unit upside down. You should see a slot that has an arrow that says emergency hole.
3. Get a knife or key and put it all the way in the hole and slide towards the direction of the arrow.
4. The disc tray should open half an inch. Open the disc tray and retrieve your disc.
5. Flip the unit right side up and plug the unit back in. The disc tray should automatically close. "
But you should read the following thread as a word of caution -http://www.fixya.com/problems-solutions/...
Good luck

Thanks Sillygirl, but unfortunately, I can't get the door to open in order to do an upgrade...neither by remote or just pressing the button on the dvd player itself. Same goes for even shutting it off...can't do it by remote nor the power button. I have to turn it off by the ac switch in the back of the player. But thank you so much for trying :)
oh and sorry, no I didn't just get it...I got it 2 Christmas' ago...stopped working a year and a month later...has be completely baffled. lol...again thanks so much
