New DVD recorder won't play DVD

I bought a JVC DR-MV7SU last October and didn't try to use it until recently so it isn't under warranty. I know, I should have used it.

It won't play any DVD and I have tried many. JVC customer service is no help. Is this machine now trash?

I have similar problem. My DVD Recorder/VCR Combo won't play DVD movies, but will play burned DVDs and compact discs. I have also contacted the manufacturer and have not received a response.

I also purchased theĀ JVC DR-MV7S and after just a few months it is telling me the DVD is unrecognizable. I purchased brand new DVDs and they wont even play. Tried looking on JVCs website, no use. This is trash... If anyone can help with an answer to fix this problem please help.

Hello
Check all the belts in the vcr mechanism. Replace them all at one time. You can get it is kit form, from most of the electronc spare part shops at your town. Give them the model number of your device. They will select it for you. The fault is with elongated driving belts. OK.

If it won't PLAY VHS tapes it must have a serious mechanical problem (if it even loads) or its heads are glommed up, so it obviously won't record them either. When's the last time you ran a cleaning tape through it?

Solve the load or playback problem and it will probably record.

Time and poor storage conditions are the mortal enemies of tapes. Store the in a 'played

I have a JVC DR MV7SU DVD/Video recorder. How do

If your camcorder allows you to connect to a tv or vcr and allows you to record from it to the camcorder via the rca video input, then you should be able to record it that.  The camcorder must have the RCA audio/video inputs on it to be successful.

Some blank DVD+R discs will not read on my DVD player

The JVC DR-MV1S DVD Recorder / VCR Combo does not suppport DVD+R, only DVD-R, -RW etc.
At least mine only supports these formats, as when I first bought mine, I got some blank DVD's they were DVD+R.
I recorded a movie onto one on my PC, then tried playing it in the JVC unit... no go!
Instruction manual (available for D/load online) proved to me that I could not play +R disks!!

JVC DR-MX1S

This machine has a lot of problems. One thing that often works is to turn it off and unplug it for a couple of minutes. Then plug it in again. Then it will say "loading" for quite a while. Leave it alone until it turns itself on. Then it should be okay. If the couple of minutes doesn't work, sometimes unplugged overnight (same method) works, but then you have to reset everything.

I have a JVC DR-MH50 DVD/HD recorder and it will only record on DVD-R or DVD-RW not DVD+R or +RW. so check your format of disk you are trying to record on it may be as simple as that.
