I have Philips PSA 250/17 MP3Max player. I got it from a friend for whom it worked fine. When I downloaded the software to my computer it would not see the songs that were on it. So I opened them with windows explorer and erased the whole file. Apparently I erased the firmware as well. When I unplugged the mp3 player the screen lit up and said,"Firmware update needed" and it had a circle. Now I cannot charge the battery, nor can I get the computer to see it when I plug it in. Since the battery is dead I think it is probably garbage now. If anyone of you experts know what to do I would appreciate. Thanks, Gary
Does it have an external AC outlet? if so, plug it in to your wall AC, plug in to PC and check if it recognizes it, and the get the firmware here: http://www.usasupport.philips.com/productDocuments.html?ProductCode=PSA250/17&subCat=NIKE_PHILIPS_AUDIO_PLAYERS_SU_US_CONSUMER Good luck p.s - if the link is broken go to the philips support find, its east to find there.
