I have a Indesit D61D and when i put it on a wash it gets stuck, as if the controller is faulty, then i realised that it is not heating up either, could the element cause the controller to stick (say in a position where the machine is supposed to heat up and stay there as it isnt heating up), in other words if the element fails can this cause the controller to seem faulty i.e stick.
My D61 will not work. Power on but the mechanical controller advance only works intermittently intermittent as though there is a contact problem. Any ideas

It could be that a deffective heating element will prevent controller's advance. In case of a deffective heating element the water will not be warmed to needed temp and the thermostat will not enable the timer to advance to next steps. Another option - The thermostat is the deffective part which prevent the timer to advance.

Hi yes, well done! you fixed the problem by yourself now all you got to do is change the element buy a new 1 for this specific model and switch them a little more work then a light bulb switch good luck

The repair can be done yourself you need to first purchas a can of liquid wrench with extention. and first shut off power or disconnect power. there is a acess panal that you need to remove to get at gears to grease once it is greased you will need to turn the dial a couple of times (powerless) and replace the panel and plug or turn on power (when you are turning the knob besure to return to the start cycle ) if you need more info please email me [email protected] thank you and good luck
