This unit has only one tuner, meaning you can only watch or record one thing at a time. Depending on your TV and how your equipment is installed, you may be able to split your antenna/ cable line and record on your DVD and use your TV tuner to watch another program.
Lots of possibilities. If you are using the remote, try also using buttons on the TV to change channels. If TV buttons work, the remote is broken or perhaps try changing batteries and cleaning battery contacts on the remote. If neither work, lots of other things to try. You may need to set preselect channels, so your TV thinks there is only one channel out there until you do. If you are on a cable box you just need channel 3 and change channels on the cable box. I can't tell what you mean by "audio changes with the channel" ... if you mean that when you try to advance channels, it increases volume and moving down in channels lowers volume that would be strange -- if you are using a programable remote it might not be set correctly (try another programming code). The "blurred" picture is probably symptomatic of having the set on the wrong channel, and if you could set channel it might clear up ... I'd start with getting channels to change. If you need more help, give the brand and model of TV, say if you are using a remote (original or programable), and what the 'audio changes' comment means in more detail. Probably worst case is that your tuner circuit is fried, but don't assume that without more diagnostic.
The way you describe having your TV/DVD connected you wont see the picture in the regular channel line-up. You will have to tell the TV to to switch to the video input. This is usually done by navigating the menu to the "input" and selecting video 1, video 2 etc Failing that try changing to channel 00 ( just type 00 in remote) Some sets will allow you to type in 02 and then hit the channel down button on the remote.
If you have the user manual it will give you the exact steps you need to take.
What is the make and model of your television.. green tint and vertical lines indicat a problem with the light engine..although the clear menu says otherwise..im not sure what type tv you have. lcd plasma change the light im guessing you mean bulb .. this indicates to me you have a dlp. but green tint to me indicates a tube projection type tv... so im just guessing hear. vertical lines also indicate a bad buffer board on a plasma or lcd. so let me know what you have
Tis is an ongoing problem I seen increase alot over the past few months. From what I can gather, all the channels being broadcast over going from the analog to digital, there's no big suprise to anyone. However, the change from analog to digital is changing at a faster rate, so when you look at the TV some channels will be fine and others will have grey lines, fuzzy picture. The only solution-you need a TV with some kind of digital tuner. On the TV itself if the (TV has one) it will say "SD" or "ED" which stands for standard digital or enhanced digital.
sounds like 2 different problems here.
first problem sounds tuner related.
second sounds convergence related.
third issue (cost effective to repair ?)
at this point i would replace the set.
i hope this helps
when you say flickering??? are you saying the screen goes black and comes back on?? does the sound go out at the same time and comes bag on with the pic ? Is the sound there when this happens but is distorted. Is the pic blacked out or is it greying out with lines and twisting?? Need more info please as if its blacking out and the sound goes with it it may be going into shutdown. If the pic is getting kinda greyish with it twisting and the sound is there and ditorted then the tuner could be bad
