More often then not its the battery even tho the battery is fully charged as it may seem. The rel test is get a new battery not your friends battery tho but a new one put it in there and let it charge. If that doe not work then the phone's logic board has been effected and it may or might not be worth reviving. But check the battery first.

same problem with the samsung a-680, starting the phone, i only get the message 'low battery powering off' before the phone shuts off, even with the phone plugged into its charger. there's no time to reset the phone. is there some other way to reset to factory settings?
Battery is in phone. Phone is plugged into charger. BUT when turned on, it reads "Battery not connected. Powering off." Then it turns off. I took the battery out and replaced it. Unplugged and replugged the charger in. Turned the phone off and on again. Same result. It MIGHT charge for a few seconds but then it shows the same "Battery not connected" message and turns off. What's the solution?
