My 1999 Buick Park Ave started hesitating and the CEL would flash. I would back off the accelerator and it would smooth out and the light would go off. About a month ago the car died while I was driving it and it has never started again. It turns over, but won't start. We've changed the fuel filter and we're getting gas. We've checked the plate under the coil pack and it's ok. Spark Plugs are dry and no coolant in the intake. We replaced the Crank shaft sensor today and still no start. The security light flashes non stop when I get in the car. It doesn't stop until I turn the key. We're stuck!

Have you tried the reset method? Turn key to the ON position and leave it there for 10 minutes, or until the security light goes off. Then turn key to off, and back to on and start-see if it starts after letting it sit for a few minutes like that with the key in the on position.

SOURCE: 1994 buick park ave, wont crank over,

Pass key is the security system which disables the car if it is stolen. You need the remote or a key with a chip to start the car. go to a dealer, prove ownership with registration and they will be able to help you out

SOURCE: 91 Buick Park Ave won't start

i just came across this problem myself the other day. i have a 91 buick park avenue that sometimes won't start. i checked several things out like cable connections and coil pack etc. etc. come to find out it was the wiring that came off the coil pack and connects to the crank sensor. the wiring that ran over top of the water pump had finally heated up so bad the coating on the wires had melted and when the engine got hot enough the wires would come in contact and send false signals to the computer not letting it start. after the car cools down and the wires contract it would start. so check the wires from the coil pack to the crank sensor to make sure the wires are not melted together.

92 buick park ave 3.8 sudden bad hesitation loss of power

This is likely a problem with the Mass Airflow sensor, it is a sensor that reads the amount of air going into the engine, when it fails it causes severs hesitation and power loss. Contact a local parts store or your GM dealer for a rebuilt one, the part is about $150.00. It is locate in the air intake hose to the engine.

94 buick park ave runs great but with a light load it shakes, accelerates good and in park or neutral is smooth changed plugs and wires

Several possibilities having to do with the torque converter clutch and TCC solenoid:

1. Replace transmission fluid, use a synthetic Dex VI, do a complete flush with pan removal and filter replacement

2. Check all grounds related to the transmission control solenoids, clean them and ensure good electrical contact.

3. Rebuild transmission, the TCC friction material is worn out.

94 Park Ave Ultra intermittent 'check engine soon light' comes on

It sounds like one of the ignition wires is breaking down or possibly a coil. Get a squirt bottle of water and spray a mist on the plug wires and coil to see if a spark starts to jump out. Probably just a bad plug wire.
