Sony TV Sound Problem

I have a Sony KP-57WV600 TV the sound goes real loud and the words sound like they are from outer space. If you turn off the TV and turn it right back on it goes away but it will come back within a few minutes or serval hours. Tonigh it has been doing it every 15 minutes or so. It does it when the TV has just been turn on to sometimes not for several hours after turning it on. I have a very good stereo system that the sound is hooked up to.

Obviously the TV needs to be serviced, if you plan on trying something yourself be carefull and please note- If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. Some of the solutions described below can be dangerous, TV's are very hazardous to service. Even when plugged out, TV's can store very high voltages. Suggest ESR all associated caps and change the audio output ic. If you're not sure how to go about that and you have some soldering skills I suggest that you first of all check for any solder defects in the area, and resolder if necessary. Still, If the sound coming out of the TV speakers while not connected to the stereo is OK, then you're looking at something else. Good luck

My tv is just making a shhh sound. I was watching tv and in the middle of the program the sound stoped and it just makes a constant shhhh sound. Is this due to a cord falling out or just and older tv?

Hello, it sounds like the blue crt has a cathode short in it and causes an overdrive situation putting the set into shutdown. The crt's are no longer available.

I have a sony tv model# kp-57wv600 serial # 9009174, when i turn it on their is a blue sreen that covers the tv, so no picture but i have sound.

When turned on the visual is blurry. the image color is only red. And when i adjust the color it doesn't work.

with this type of tv, you can be almost certain that something has gone wrong with the lamp or the cooling system for the lamp. the cost associated with these kinds of fixes are usually more than the unit is worth. The life span on rear projection TV's is not all that good,5-10 years. some last longer. but for most this is a good estimate. this tv has an auto focus feature that might help. also if this TV has a SD slot for upgrades, give it a try as well.

you will need to replace the Green CRT your model uses the sony # 873365201 CRT. The other site I work for just got a shipment of Sony and RCA CRTs(Tubes) in on friday. So you can get one at the following link these are brand new Tubes and they provide free shipping and free on line tech support with instant messageing in case you need help installing it. Blue to Black screen on Sony KP-57WV600

i too have 57wv600 and your problem is same as mine VOLTAGE withen tube is off ...this is common problem sony knows full well and will not tell us this voltage can be adjusted with a philips screwdriver i had blue lines then solid blue then shut off...7 blinking lights ...went to this site followed directions (too simple)and now i have perfect picture.serviceman said i needed new tube.b.s. ...so never change your tube it is not the prob!!!!!!!....go to www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html read post(comment) near bottom of page by paul t dated 12/26/2007 and instructions on how to remove our front panel is fully explained ...a screwdriver will fix your problem I guarantee it.....
