Question about Indesit 18 in. D41 Slim-Line Free-standing Dishwasher
Model: Indesit D41 Before starting a new cycle you first need to select reset on the dial. When doing this, the drainage pump operates for about a minute followed by the pre-wash light blinking indefinitely and I cannot get a washing cycle to start. There is no water present at bottom of unit and I have tried pouring a basin of water into the unit and repeating the procedure. The water is pumped out but the cycle refuses to initiate. The indesit helpline have suggested that there is a leak in the base and water is trapped in the base, can this easily be fixed?
I have had the same problem. The issue is with the dip tray + overflow detector under the machine. What happened is the dip tray is full of water and the overflow detects this condition and prevents the machine from starting.
It looks like there is no water present in the machine but the drip tray, located underneath, is full. Give the machine a good shake and you should see water.
I solved it easily: just get a mop, lift the machine's front so that it tilts backwards and collect the water as it escapes the drip tray towards the back of the machine. The tray can collect quite a bit of water so you're likely to need a few tilts until it's empty.
In my case, the underlying case had been a previous mistake - we didn't allow the machine to finish completely and water had remained on it. Somehow the water had found its way to the tray. Other causes my be another appliance sharing the same waste pipe and pushing water down the dishwasher's waste system.

It look like you have a cold water supply problem- check water entrance pipe, myaybe it was bend (if you have there a tap - see it is open). Check that water entrance valve work (it is an electromagnet valve, loocated at the pipe's enterance to the machine). If it doesn't work, test that it get power. In case it get power and dosen't work - You can easyly open the valve and clean it (from scale or other dirt). Be aware you should disconnect the power cable from machine before doing it !!!!! Check as well for valve's coil resistance. In case you have no resistance measurement - you should replace for a new valve.

SOURCE: Indesit D41 dishwasher problem
you need to check the inlet walve . when you start the unit you say it drains. so after the drain do you hear the water entering the dishwasher? If you hear a sound like a buzzing noise that would be the inlet valve working. if thats the case there is a clog at the screen in the valve not allowing the water or enough water in the tub. seeing that this is a portable unit you will also want to check to make sure the fill hose is not kinked up anywhere in the cabinet or under neath the dishwasher. If you hear no buzzing noise you need to check the inlet valve with a meter to first make sure your getting power to it and that the valve itself if good. check these things out and let me know what you found and we can go from there

Tilt your dishwasher forwards. Be aware that water will come out ouf the bottom. Once this is clear your washer should be Ok.

WHEN TRYING TO START A NEW LOAD THE MOTOR IS RUNNING BUT THE GREEN LIGHT SHOULD STAY SOLID BUT IT STARTS TO FLASH RAPIDLY AND THE MACHINE WONT GO ANY FURTHER . NO WATER IS ENTERING
Our WHIRLPOOL DISHWASHER MODEL GU2500XTP had the Accu Sensor light blinking constantly and it would not turn off. Tried unplugging the unit, resetting the fuse, pushing cancel button etc. Had problems re-starting the cycle. Read this article solution and tried it holding Normal Wash Button with Heated Dry, after several sessions of doing this it reset the dishwasher.
