Our little p-touch pt-85 is printing labels, but suddenly the label's text is "weak" looks like there isn't enough ink on the label, strange thing is I don't think they use ink. The output is full of lines, not a solid print out like we used to get. Suggestions? Thanks

I found 2 helpful manuals from brother that you may want to checkout. they explain exactly how to install the cartridge: http://www.ptouchdirect.com/ptouch/manual/PT1000.pdf http://www.ptouchdirect.com/ptouch/manual/PT85.pdf
you can, change the margins to narrow. you'll decrease the right margin but not the left margin which accdg to my research, is the space needed for the ptouch to print.
Remove the batteries and disconnect the AC adapter if you do not intend to use the
machine for an extended period of time. (Note: When power is disconnected for more
than three minutes, all text shown in the display and any text files stored in the
memory will be lost. Language and unit settings will also be cleared.)
Take out your cartridge and look at the end of the tape, it should be under the guide, the skinny bar, before going into your machine. Make sure you tuck it in under that bar and it should be OK.
