Tv problem Hello, I do not have the model number of my 27" GE tv. The tv will go from a good picture to static and make a static noise. Sometimes the pictures comes back after a minute or so and sometimes it takes a while. I would appreciate any insight on what the problem might be. Thanks, Athena

Does it like tune and detune and then retunes back to a pic all by itself??? sounds like the typical problems rca/ge sets mostly have in common with bad tuner grounds.. you must open the set remove the bottom tuner sheild and resolder all the grounds along with the little post that hold on the sheild to the tuner. Now this is not a job for the hobbiest!!! You can cause a small solder splash and ruin the set for life cause you may think that you got out that little solder splash BUt unaware to you you also have taken out some very tiny parts that look like a pieces of dirt that are surface mount resistors and capacitors.

When I turn on my LN40A550 I get a green fuzzy picture with a loud static and noise sometimes it doesn't come on, I eventually unplug it and then it comes on.

The manufacturer of ET427E is Funai. It is a 27" colour TV have normal inputs and outputs to use. Only a standard TV, has no advanced functions.OK.

You either have a cold solder joint in your horizontal deflection circuits or your or in your horizontal output circuit. please be careful due to the fly-back transformer still holds power even unplugged until you discharge it.( ground it out). Hope this helps.

Could be a possible flyback. yes.. for a 27inch i would not think it would be worth it... 27 inch tvs are realativly cheap.. the lowest price to repair would be about 200 if you got lucky.
