Question about Belkin F5D7234-4 Router

How can i install my belkin's router? we have a new dsl line. were trying to enter http://192.168.2.1/ but its not working. thanks.

To reset the Belkin back to the defaultsettings -
Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router and thenpower for at least 15 secs. Then release the RESET button.
Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open abrowser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password.
You can now configure the wireless settings. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop withthe router's wireless settings.

You can try to:(if your Belkin is connected directly to the DSL line)
1-power router off
2-diconnect the DSL line from the router
2b-connect the DSL line to your* PC and test;if works then;
3-power on the router and connect the line back again.
2b*-if not call your ISP.

Port 88 UDP problem
1) You have to enter UDP and TCP on seperate lines with same port numbers in each line respectively. So you will have four lines, UDP 88, UDP 3074, TCP 88 and TCP 3074. Also, make sure you have your 360's IP entered. You can find that in the 360 network info.

2) Also, place your 360's IP in the DMZ. That should help.

3) For testing, turn off the routers Firewall. It will make it easier to figure out what is going on.

Being that your other computers in the network are working properly, you should switch the ip settings on your comnputer to automatically detect. That way your computer does all the routing and ip setting,

After you have set that back. Remove the power of your router, remove the power of your modem, and restart your computer.

Once your computer is back up, turn on modem, then the router.

It sounds very simple, but in most cases, it solves the problem.

Hi, problem occured after i changed my ISP password. then updated the router with the new ISP password. Havent been able to connect since. my Belkin F5D8635 router sends my ISP password to my ISP as...
i recommend u try the old password.

Dsl light is not on
This typically indicates a loss of synchronization. Check the following items:

-Is the modem/router connected directly to a wall jack? Make sure you remove any DSL microfilters, splitters, or telephone extension cords.
-Do all of the telephones and fax machines in your home have DSL microfilters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DSL_filter)?
-Do you have a security system that is centrally monitored? If so, it will require a special type of microfilter that must be installed by the security company.
-Try disconnecting all of the cables from the back of the modem/router, waiting one minute, then reconnecting them all.

If you've tried all of the above and you're still having problems, the problem is likely with your telephone line or your house's telephone wiring. Call your ISP's technical support and indicate that you have tried these steps. They should be able to test the line, and if necessary dispatch a technician or place a trouble ticket with the central office.

I want to enter my router with 192.168.0.1, and this doesn' work. I installed I tunes also.

I a using cable net and not the dsl line.the net on my pc is working but when i try to connect ps3 wirelessly it show 100% signal from belkin but the internet connection fails.i have tried different...
check the wireless settings of the router .
Make sure that you are typing the correct network key if your network is secured.
May be you will need to open the ports on the router.

Problem with belkin router
assuming you are connecting wirelessly; you may have to check that the router is allocating ip addresses automatically to your pc's. connect one of your pc's to the router via the RJ45 network cable that was supplied and not wirelessly and type 192.168.2.1 in your internet browser, this will take you into the routers setup menu. Look for a menu refering to 'DHCP' and make sure that this is enabled, then look for the channel number that the router is using (normally 6 or 11) and make a note as if you are still experiencing signal loss, you can get back into the router and change to any channel between these numbers incase you are getting appliances interfering with the signal, save and exit from the router menu. disconnect the cable then go to control panel, network connections and right click on the connection you are using whether it is wired or wireles and click on properties. Look for the line TCP/IP and again click on the line and select properties, then make sure automatically obtain ip address is selected, ok and close window. Restart the pc's and you should have a connection.
