Key board of Samsung Notebook R470 is malfunctioning. When some letters are pressed numbers come out instead of letters. Example is when letter i is pressed number 5 comes out. Whats wrong with the notebook computer and how will the problem be resolved?

Oh yes, I have had this happen before and it sucks.

This problem is usually just due to having Num lock on. Try pressing the num lock button on your keyboard and see if this makes a difference. In the smaller notebooks and netbooks they combine the numbers and letters onto the same keys using num lock to distinguish the mode.

I think on your model the num lock button will be towards the top right of the keyboard. You may also have to press the FN (function) button at the same time, but I am not sure.

Also there should be a small led that illuminates or goes dark to inform you when num lock/scroll lock/caps lock are enabled/disabled.
