I want to reboot my entire system so it starts from scratch, how do I do this?

If your system does have a recovery partition (typically says press f11 for recovery during boot if you have one) Reboot the pc, press f11 during the asus screen. The system restore utility will guide you through the rest.

If your system does not have a recovery partition
Take your system restore or operating system disc, Put it in the cdrom, reboot the computer.

When your pc starts back up (during the asus logo screen) During this screen there is usually a key sequence you can press to pop up the alternate boot menu. Typically the key is esc, f8 or f10. If one of those is right it will bring up a second menu asking what to boot from, select your cdrom. The cd will boot and your system restore disc will guide you through the rest..

Reboot means to start up the computer operating system from scratch. This can be accomplished by shutting down the machine using the power button and turning the computer back on; or by clicking on the power icon and choosing restart. No disk player would be involved in a reboot action.

Everytime I turn a corner or go over a bump the entire system shuts off and reboots. It will do this mutliple times, to the point where its no longer playing music anymore. What's wrong with it?

I would check fusable link on power supply 12 volt DC from battery voltage. if compression springs loose inside link, possible that bumps are causing loss of contact causing power down, then when the reconnect, you get reboot, check entire power supply line from point of power connection to unit.

How to reboot my computer

Hi
It depends what you mean by reboot? to me it means restart from scratch so you click the start button and then depending on which operating system you have click on the red button or click on shutdown and then you will most probably get a box open up with a letterbox drop down menu which may say shutdown or sleep click on the arrow on the right and select shoutdown and click ok.

What do you mean by reboot? :) do you mean just restart the system, restore it from a previous point or wipe your HDD and go from scratch?

I have an acer aspire 6920, i rebooted the system to start from scratch, when it had finished installing everything it rebooted itself, but always boots in to the erecovery menu, but both options are not...

You said you rebooted the system or reinstall the Operating System?

Scratched computor screen

How deep of a scratch is it on the screen? Just on the plastic/glass protective coating over the monitor?
If it is not in the LCD then you could just remove the plastic/glass and replace it if you want.
If the scratch is deep then your LCD is probably scratched. Sadly the cost of replacing the LCD screen within an LCD monitor is more expensive than buying an entirely new screen. Your best bet is either dealing with the scratch or getting an entirely new monitor. I would recommend visiting www.newegg.com where there are many cheap monitors there.

Aspier 5520 reboots constant. can open safe mode.

That you can start in safe mode tells me that your problem is caused by some software/driver you have installed lately or in worse case by a virus. You can start by starting the pc in safe mode and uninstalling what you have installed the last couple of days or if you have the possibility, restore your system to an earlier date! if it doesn't help, you should back your files up then format the hard drive and install Windows from scratch. OBS. you might have the recovery partition on your hard drive!

Rebooting a computer will not remove your Windows Vista Operating System, So, it is safe to reboot your computer.

You can try also to do reformat your hard drive as fresh unallocated one before doing formatting again to install windows. And check your installation disk for scratches.
