We've printed probably 3k-4k sheets of pape (duplex), suddenly the top right corner is getting a little notch in it and it gets progressively worse (duplex side only) until it gets to a full-on jam - accordion folded paper, etc. Could it be the fuser?

When the printer start to print from cold (haven't been used) the paper won't load. After manualy push in the 1st page, it starts printing the rest of pages fine.

Is it possible that on the first occasion this happened some paper was left stuck in the printer when you were pulling it out? Open the printer and take out any paper leftovers and try again. When pulling out a jammed paper sheet, try pulling from more then one point, applying an even spread of pull force, without jerking it out at once, will give you a better chance of pulling it out whole. Leaving pieces of paper inside is very likely to cause problems. Hope this helps

After you check it for forien objects and know that it is clear. Get a warm wet cotton rag with mild detergent on it and wash over the rollers and the entire printer. Be careful not to damage it thru ruff handling. Don't get water on the electrical parts just the moving parts. Don't use exccessive water squeeze out excess. Be sure and unplug it from the power first. Unplug it from the computer too. Make sure it is dry before you start it back up. You can use a dry cloth to dry it also. After two years of printing I am sure it needs some cleaning.

The usual cause for paper jams is the rollers need to be cleaned or replaced. just cleaning the rollers is not enough they need to be rejuvenated as well. I don't suggest isopropyl alcohol as it dries out the rubber. I believe it is called rollit. I Hope this helps

PRINTER DID NOT TAKING PAPER AFTER PRINT OPTION AND PRINTER STOPS AFTER 2INCHES PAPER

hi
I guess its a coz of paper jam in your printer.
Heavy cardstock and certain types of slick or coated paper can cause frequent paper jams. To better isolate the cause of your problem (machine or paper), try a new **** of regular 20 lb copy or laser paper.

  • Don't Overload
Overloading your paper tray can cause paper jams. Your manual may say that your input tray can hold 250 sheets -- but if you keep getting jams, try loading 225 sheets instead.
  • Check the Paper
Check the minimum/maximum paper weights that your printer can handle. Paper that is too thick, or too thin, can cause jams.
  • If you still get paper jams after this may be its time to clear the internal of the machine..You might want to have a look at the following link..

SCX 4521F multi/f keeps reporting "Document Jam"

Hello there,
If the paper is lodged too far into the printer and can't be removed: Press the power button to turn the printer off.
Pull firmly on the paper to remove it. If you can't reach the paper because it is too far in, raise the front cover and remove the paper from the front of the printer.
Close the front cover.
Press the power button to turn the printer back on.
Resend your document to print.

Ensure that:
The paper is a recommended paper for Laser printers.
You do not force the paper down into the printer when you load it. For example, if you are loading letter or A4 size paper, the top edge of the paper should extend above the top of the sheet feeder.
The printer is on a flat, level surface.
The left paper guide is against the side of the paper.
You do not load too much paper in the sheet feeder. Depending on the thickness of your paper, the sheet feeder can hold up to 100 sheets of paper.
The left paper guide does not cause the paper to bend in the sheet feeder.
Your printer feeds regular paper as expected. If regular paper feeds without causing problems, load the envelopes vertically against the right side of the sheet feeder. Make sure the paper guide is against the side of the envelopes.
Envelopes or the appropriate specialty papers are selected in the printer driver.
You are using a paper or envelope size supported by your printer.

Printer keeps jamming paper

without some information about the kind of printer and the weight/thickness of the paper, try to supply more information in a comment if you can, this is a generic answer.
many printers have a paper thickness adjustment that helps ensure that only one sheet is picked up at a time, and that the sheet feeds accurately,
if two or more sheets are picked up there are jams as multiple sheets do not feed well, and may not even get out of the paper tray. If the printer is set for a thicker paper, the lead edge of thinner sheets may miss its aimed path and wrap around guides or rollers, jamming.
The makers web page, or the user guide if you still have it, often have FAQ on paper jams,
