the knock sensors are located on the cylinder heads. the connect to the wiring harness almost directly in the middle of the intake manifolds on the center of the top of the engine. There are two, one for each bank, with each having two sensors per bank. Bank 1 is cylinders 1-6 which is located on the driver's side I beleive.
you will have to pull the radio out of your vehicle and get the serial number off of it. bmw keeps a record of old radio codes. if you take your vehicle to the dealership usually they will retrieve radio codes for free. And even pull the radio out to get the serial number.
Hi! You don't need to take the vehicle to the dealership, just the vin number registration document/title proof of ownership and identification. They should be only too glad to give you the code for a small fee I guess. Hope this sorts it? Please press the Blue Button for My FREE! advice. Thank You! Paul 'W' U.K.
