The picture on my screen has gotten blurry. I have adjusted all the settings. However, it is still hard to read small words or see facial expressions on the screen. Thanks for your help.

Hi There shouldnt be much in the focus system to go wrong as really there is nly the tube base and the flyback transformer. The usual for a TV is the tube faulty so its beyond repair. You could try the focus control, this will be on the flyback transformer. Back off TV, look for a heavy lead going to the dome of the tube at centre top and with eyes ONLY follow that back to the flyback transformer. On the side of that transformer is 2 screws, one near the top is the focus control. You will need a screwdriver to turn it and it usually has a seal to be broken. That will turn from say 8 o clock to 4 o clock no more, turn it up clockwise, try both ways. if it almost fixes but not quite it would be the tube. good luck

Zenith tv is blurry

There are two adjustments on your flyback. If there is not an access in the back of the set to turn the adjustments then you need to take the back off of the tv. One adjustment is for brightness and the other is your focus. Just slowy turn the adjustment right or left until the picture gets clearer and your done.

I have a sony trinitron 36in tv, the screen works fine, colours are all great, no flickering or random shapes at all, its just a little blurry around edges, especially small text, its very blurry and...

it is very easy you just need a very small straight edge screwdriver

you should try to adjust sharpness setting with on screen adjustment first

if tv is too old tube might be going "soft" and sharp focus might not be able to be fully achieved anymore

good luck

Tv is alittle blurry, its hard to read words

when its hard to read words its usually the sharpness which make the t.v.'s look either blurry or sharp or right in between. you can fix this by adjusting it thru your tv's menu either on the tv or your remote, look under the picture tab in the menu and there should be a sharpness adjuster there. adjust as needed

Blurry tv screen

If you are comfortable on doing adjustment with working TV then take off back cover of TV and check flyback transformer, there you would see 2 control knobs, upper knob if to adjust focus. rotate it CW or CCW to obtain maximum focus on TV screen.
Put back cover and enjoy.

Gray picture

This sounds like you have the contrast setting too high, go to your menu and find the contrast settings, and adjust to your requirement. As for the words being blurry, this could be because your tv is HD ready, and unless you view a High Definition channel then the picture will be a liitle blurred.
Hope this is of some help?

Look for where to turn off subtitling. It'll be there somewhere, accessible via the remote.

Samsung Projection HDTV BLURRY!

Each projection set has focus controls in back, usually they don't move or go out of focus unless someone moves it, but in your case if you open the back you will see a focus block with 6 knobs 3 are for screen,I would highly recommend that you don't move this. Look for the focus and you will have to set each with the one color. Cover the other two and adjust.
