I just purchased the machine.I started the machine following the instructions and was able to make my espressos without a problem, then all of a sudden the alarm lite came on, so I saw that the coffee bean hopper needed filling, checked the water tank, filled it up to max, cleaned out the dregdrawer and rinsed out brew group and reinserted everything properly.
I also primed the unit again. However a small amount of water came out of the spout.
The alarm lite is still on.
Is there something I have missed to be done?

When you start using the new machine make sure the water tank is full and if filter is used make sure to prime the machine before started making coffee.

It depends if you have a manual or an automatic machine. If you're not sure, the manual one has just one green button, whereas the automatic has two. The automatic one delivers a fixed amount of water, which you can vary but following the instructions. If you have a manual one then you need to press the button once to start the flow, and again to turn it off.
If it is this new, and you have followed all the usage instructions, return it to point of purchase for replacement. With the Starbucks name, it could not have been cheap. Re-read all instructions and try again. If still no-go, return it.
