I need help on how to fix a sticking door on my microwave oven. Sometimes it does not open when the door release is pressed. Other times you press the release and it springs right open. How do I fix this problem?

Usually this is due to loosened mounts inside the oven. The mounts hold the door switches and grab the door hooks when it the door is closed. The solution is to realign and tighten the mount screws inside. It's less liekly, but it could be a weak or worn door open lever inside. I only advise people to work on a microwave if they're fully informed and aware of the deadly hazards and necessary precautions.

DON'T remove the cover yourself unless you fully undertand the SAFETY issues involved in working inside a microwave oven. A microwave oven is possibly THE MOST DANGEROUS common consumer product to service. Usually with these doors, the latching parts tend to loosen up at times, thus requiring some re-adjustment and tightening. Sometimes they get a bit warn and require to be replaced. A good cleaning might also do it. A note to be on the safe side: don't spray any wd-40 into it, it can cause more problems and isn't likely to solve anything. Good luck

Door release buton does not open the door

You can disassemble the microwave oven and check out the release mechanism. You'll find several hooks that hold the door closed and a linkage mechanism to the door opening button. There may be a broken piece of plastic or maybe just a loose or missing screw that holds linkage together. In the case of a broken plastic part, you can fix it with a 2-part epoxy adhesive, but you'll need to permanently splint across the break with a piece of metal or strong plastic that you've scavenged from somewhere. Before epoxying the splint in place, rough up all plastic surfaces where you want the epoxy to stick well.
Good luck.

How to fix the door button on panasonic microwave t6648fx?

Clean the inside edge of the door and oven where it contacts the door. Grease or oil is preventing the door to swing open.

Sounds like a door switch problem. Relays can stick too so tap them to release, they may need to be replaced

Over the range microwave oven

The problem is the release spring is broken or the button is sticking, pick up a small can of electronic cleaner attach straw and spray into the button crevis to break down the crud, grime, and dirt this should help release the mechanism.

Is the running open door dangerous

Yes! it is dangerous, microwave leakage is the biggest concern, you need a professional to assess safety and repair viability.

Won't whut off when open door

The microwave running with the door open can be dangerous.

It's most likely the switch in the door stuck in the closed position. Or it has failed/broken in the closed position.

Sometimes the switch is just a button sticking out of the cabinet where the door pushes on it when closed -- sometimes the door latch pushes on a switch inside the latch receiver in the cabinet.

If cleaning around that switch doesn't solve the problem, you should take it to a repair shop.

Spacemaker II door latch problem

Most microwave ovens have catches that are shaped like hooks, these hooks catch on a fixed bolt or a raise in the frame of the oven.

The next time you get the oven open check these hooks to see if the springs are working in a strong positive manner, or if you have to push a button on the model check to see that the button releases the hooks.

Hope this helps.
