You may have to push a pen tip into the reset hole on the back of the router if you can't get passed the log in screen, assuming you have done this:-

The default username is admin and the password is either password or 1234. Try these before resetting the router.

  1. Press the reset button on the back until the test light blinks. This takes about 10 seconds. (To avoid accidental resets, the small button is recessed. Use a pen or paperclip to access it.)
  2. Release the button.
  3. Wait for the router to reboot.
  4. Log in with the default password

Asus 4g will not connect with netgear router using WPA-PSK Protected access Pre-shared Key

Connect a LAN cable from the Netgear to the LAN port on your computer, open a browser and enter the Netgear configuration URL -
http://192.168.0.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = password You can now change the default admin password and configure the wireless settings.
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

I want to connect with my Nintendo DS Lite to my NetGear router. But it says i need a WEP-key but i can't find it on my router. Can someone help me?

Hi,

There are 2 ways to find out the WEP key on your network.

1.
Netgear usualy sets default key which is located underneath the router ( it is a 10 digit long number you find below the bar code )

2.
If you are still unable to locate the key, download this utility program and it will help you locate the key and other key information about the router ( network ) you have setup

Click on the download button below and follow the instructions

How do I secure my netgear wireless router? I tried to enter in the http://192.168.0.1 but it isnt working? Please HElp

The default IP address of the Netgear WGR614 is 192.168.1.1.

Or try typing http://www.routerlogin.net in the address bar of your browser.

By default, the username is admin and the password is password.

To secure your wireless network, Go to Setup -> Wireless settings.

Change the SSID (wireless network name) to easily determine which is your wireless network.

Enable WEP and make sure you take note of the network key.

On your wireless computer, view the available wireless networks and you should see your SSID. Then enter the network key.

I hope this helps!

NETGEAR WGR614v7 Network Security key

Hi, you need to connect to the routers admin pages to configure the wireless settings and security. Check out this page:-
http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101676.asp

When you get to step 6, click the WPA-PSK security setting and it will give you a box to type in a password of your choice, make it memorable but difficult to guess, so a mixture of numbers and letters. I think its a min of 8 characters.
Hope this helps..

Connecting to wireless

Hi,

Here you go, download this wireless key viewer.

Link: http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/WirelessKeyView-Download-53424.html

Once download, extract the files, open the folder up and click on the key icon.

It will show you the network you are connected to and the Hex Key marked on the image below, now all you need to do is write this down and when the Asus asks for the key put this one in and press connect.
