My Braun 7680 won't charge, and it heats up when I try. Do you think it is the charger or the battery?

Had the same problem on my shaver too. Bought this product:

(I know the link says foil cutter, but it takes you to Braun lubricating oil!)

I apply the lubricating oil to the foil etc, then the word "oil" disappears. Then after a while the word "oil" comes back and I apply the oil again and so on, my shaver still performs normally.

Great instructions.

I left out the plastic latch and the razor works fine. OK with me.

On step "f" there was a little guide on one side...I had to push that in before sliding the switch upwards...it slid right out after doing that.

Yes, drizzle some vegetable oil on the blades while running.

the item has a 2 year warranty. if you have proof of purchase date, you should call Braun for warranty service. Phone number is in your owner manual

Most likely, the mechanism is broken and will need replaced. The switch is part of the trimmer assembly which comes attached to the outer casing. You will find a replacement at shaveroutlet.com. See link below
