Dishwasher won't drain. - Maytag Dishwasher

It appears that you have a drain pipe problem. Check that the hose is not restricted ( kinks etc) Get a good drain cleaner that you can use in you machine and clear the gunk out of the hose. Contact simpson dealer for a compatible product to do the job as some drain cleaners react with the steel and hoses.

Belt, Water Pump Although few dishwashers have a water pump belt, if the dishwasher won't drain there might be a worn or broken water pump belt. After removing the lower kick panel the motor can be seen in the front, the water pump belt is on the bottom of the motor.

Drain Pump If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain pump might be defective. Test the pump motor with an Ohm meter. Drain pumps are not repairable, if it's defective it will need to be replaced.

Drain Impeller The drain impeller is attached to the pump and pushes the water out of the dishwasher, through the drain tube and into the garbage disposer or drain line. If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain impeller might be broken or worn out. Replace both the impeller and seal at the same time.

Drain Solenoid Kit If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain solenoid kit might need to be replaced. The drain solenoid is an actuator that opens a flap to allow the water to drain.
Drain Valve The drain valve can get clogged with debris and should be cleaned out if the dishwasher won't drain. If it seems clear of debris but won't actuate, it will need to be replaced. Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller.

Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat.
