The drivers that you may currently have in your newly upgraded computer is for windows XP, you will have to download and install the printer that you have using a Vista Compatible driver.

Click the "Download Drivers" link then select Vista as your Operating System.

Your Lexmark X1270 printer was designed for rosoft Windows 2000; Microsoft Windows XP; Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64; Microsoft Windows Vista; Microsoft Windows Vista x64; and Microsoft Windows 7 as it is indicated in its webpage. Remember, drivers and softwares are always limited from the manufacturer's releases. I recommend that you upgrade your printer to a Mac compatible printer. You may choose from this LINK.

Can i download the c.d to program it to my computer?

You can download software that is usually found on CDs that ship with the printer. Lexmark support has the following files for your X1270. Be sure to download the correct one for your operating system:

Have upgraded my pc to windows vista and now my lexmark x1270 will not print. can I download a programme to make the two compatable

depends on lexmark and if they've written a driver for Vista for that model printer (I had an x125 all in one that I ended up giving away because they chose not to support in Vista).

check with lexmark.com

About windows vista printer

Go to Lexmark's download page (here) and follow the prompts. It will lead you to the correct driver for Windows Vista.
32-bit: cjb1200EN.exe
64-bit: cjs1200EN.exe (printer), 1200SBarVistaX64EN.exe (patch for scanner)

Lexmark won't work with vista

First, Vista has it's own drivers and will assign it's own to your printer when you plug it in. This method will not work with many external devices. Completely disconnect the printer. Then install the lexmark driver. A window will pop up saying that the software being loaded is not approved by windows. Click install anyway. The software will instruct you when it is ok to connect the printer. You may have to go into the printer and faxes (control panel) and delete the current default printer.

Lexmark X1270 scanner problem

The only way i can get my Lexmark X1270 to scan is to use the Windows Vista "Windows Photo gallery" to scan :

Start > All Programs > Windows photo Gallery > File > Import from Camera or scanner > select the scanner > save scanned file to your computer

This is the only way I have been able to use the scanner on my lexmark X1270,hope it works for you too.Be lucky.
