I bought a used Verifone omni 3750 and it says download needed but it won't take any password we have tried. Is the machine just a gonner?

The password on most vx510's can be reset by pulling battery and clearing RAM. Reassemble, clear Tamper and password will reset to original password (1aa66831). But if the certificate has been changed, only your download provider can help you. Call Frank @ 775-338-6634

Turn off and unplug the Verifone 3750. Wait for five seconds or so and then plug it back in. This will automatically reset the Verifone 3750 and it will reboot and restart.

Reset the shift. Resetting the shift is another reset option available for Omni. Press "Shift," then "#," followed by "1" to reset and change the shift.

Press "Shift," then "#," then "2" to stop a change and keep the shift on the current settings.

Get in touch with a gift card company or you processor (as many have programs) they will set you up with a program and cards and put the program in the machine.

I am an ISO. I was hoping to buy some terminals off ebay. Figuring out old machines is a hassle. I would rather give a machine away at a good deal than reprogram machines with nightmares.  But I don't want to buy a machine and be stuck with if it can't be reprogrammed. But if I can unlock a machine, that would be useful knowledge. However, I don't think it's possible, according to my boss.

Your processor should be able to essentially blow out the memory on the terminal. From their a dummy program can be loaded to finish wiping out any residual memory. Lastly, you will need to do a completely new core load with your actual file build. The process takes much longer than normal due to the multiple core loads but it is effective. If your processor is not familiar with this or is unable, I would be more than happy to take over your services but am unable to solicit on this site.
