I took my printer home from my workplace and i want to use it at home it is telling me it is offline it is adcp 585cw wireless

You will need to have the print head replaced to fix this common problem. You can call brother at 1-877-brother and they will tell you what to do to get it repaired at no cost to you.

There may be a issue here that you have not unistall the original program before attempting to reinstall the new program.

If you have done this and still get a problem, you should go direct to Brother's web site to download the latest driver version that corresponds to your Windows OS such as XP, Visita, or Win 7.

But you can also try to restore your computer to a date where your printer was working,

Try this:

1: Go to start
2: printers and faxes
3: Right click on printer
4: Click on work offline ( this will put the printer online)

You are ready to go.

A possible reset might solve hence remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer driver software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contacts

did black ink detect with the ink level status? run print head clean in printer preferences tool maintenance.

Go to the control panel and then into the printers section. Right click the DCp-585cw and select printing preferences. Under the section quality chose fast. This should speed things up.

first make sure the wirelss is enable and you are able to ping the print server .Go to printer and faxes option and choose the printer model which you installed just right click on it you will see the option of use printer online.
