Panasonic NV-GS50 My camera has gone "blind"
I can view pre-recorded stuff on the LCD screen so the problem is not there. But if I try to record anything new to tape, all I get is sound.
When I switch on to camera mode, all I get is blank screen.
Basically I now have an expensive tape recorder.
when i turn on my mv730i to camera it has a black screen with the usual icon on it. if i turn it to play everything is fine playing pre-recorded stuff when i turn it back to camera it is black again instead of being ready to recordwhen i turn on my mv730i to camera it has a black screen with the usual icon on it. if i turn it to play everything is fine playing pre-recorded stuff when i turn it back to camera it is black again instead of being ready to record
Did a transfer video picture from an old camcorder to nv-gs50 and able to play back the video visible on the lcd screen. But when trying to use the camera mode to record video, the camera and lcd are blank. When recorded for a few seconds and playback, no picture being showed except the sound. Not sure what has went wrong as the nv-gs50 was functioning well just a month ago. Same problem here. When I put the main switch in VCR or Memory mode, everything works fine, I can play back pre-recorded material. When in camera mode, the system doesn't start, I get no response at all (no LCD, no viewfinder, no power)
Already checked tape (lock switch in the right place), different battery, hard reset, ... nothing helped.

if you are using rca cables let the cam playing something you recorded and try find the channel on vcr(on its tuner).it would be helpfull if you post a picture of your cord
please check Video head tip, if it is OK. Clean Video head with Head cleaning cassette. If Head tip is damaged head to be replace.
thanking you & best of luck.
