Re: Broken RF Connector
Its fixable. the question is how much of the inside broke with it.
cost for repair on that usually averages 45 to 65 dollars... unless tuner is damaged in most cases not. if not hooked to tuner then maybe a new isolation block..simple job

You will have to purchase cable that was once used to connect an older VCR to the TV. This cable connector will go into the RF connection of the TV to the RF connection on the cable box. If the RF connector you are looking for in the back of the TV is gone...you will have to find a TV tech to attach a new RF connection to the tuner of this TV. Hope this will help with a solution!
guess u mean the antenna in or also called rf. in this case if u are involved in electronics and have a soldering iron u can open the rf converter and solder a rf cable inside and leave it out the original hole and connect a simple plug for connecting to antenna. just ask again here to topic if something is unclear.
Sometimes you can replace the rf connector by resoldering it with a replacement rf. You will have to remove the tuner to do this. The big question is did you crack the tuner board or the board the tuner is connected to. You will really have to examine these. In most of my cases a successful replacement rf connector will fix.
The small metal box is the tuner. The tuner has to be removed to replace the broken off RF connector. The connector has to be soldered to the tuner housing (metal box) and the leg of the connector has to be soldered to the circuit board, board has to be checked for cracks or if it is broken. If board is damaged the tuner will have to be replaced, if its available.
You need an 800 degree soldering iron. It is advisable to tke this to a repair shop. A qualified echnician may bae able to repair the turner without further damaing. It is likely if you try to do this yourself the tuner will be damaged to the pint that it will have to be replaced which will mor than double your repair cost.
