Whenever you recieve he dreaded f4 or even a f3 error code this is telling you that the ovens temperature probe is not working properly it may be shorted out and in need of replacement.

whenever you get this error code F4 or even the f3 error code this is telling you that the ovens temperature sensor/probe is faulty and is unable to sense the temperature of the oven correctly.
So the fix for this is to get a new sensor OK SO IF YOU WILL GIVE ME THE MAKE AND MODEL # OF YOUR OVEN I CAN SEND YOU SOME PART INFORMATION ON THIS OK?

take the trim peices off. take the screws that hold it to the wall out slidee unit out a little to remove the 2 screws from the consol lift the consol up and off. make sure that you have turned the power off inside the unit you will see a tech sheet that will tell you what that error code means. let me know how it goes the tech sheet is usually on the left side.

It sounds like you have an oven problem rather than a start button problem. Is there an error code? If so list your model and error code on a search engine and you will find error codes. Or you can just list make model number and error codes and you can find a chart of Whirlpool error codes. I have done this with no problem. That should tell you the exact problem and things to try.

It may be neither issue you mentioned. It could be a bad element or a short.

The error code E0 F3 indicates that the oven temperature sensor in your range is open. This error code can also mean that the electronic oven control in your range has failed. Disconnect the electricity to your range for 2-3 minutes. This will reset your control if it is just confused.

If the error code persists someone needs to access the back of the electronic oven control and read the resistance of the oven temperature sensor. The sensor is connected to terminals P3-5 and P3-6 on the electronic oven control by two violet wires. The sensor should read around 1100 ohms at 70 degrees

If the sensor reads more than 100 ohms more or less than 1100 it is defective. If the sensor reads within 100 ohms of 1100, the electronic oven control has failed and will need to be replaced.

I have a Whirlpool MOD. RBS275PDB17 single electric self-cleaning oven; although the manual is generic, it specifies, "When the cycle is completed and the oven cools, "End" will appear on the lower oven display and "LOCKED' will disappear" and "To Stop Self-Clean any time: Press UPPER/OFF, LOWER/OFF or OFF/CANCEL. If the oven temperature is too high, the door will remain locked. It will not unlock until the oven cools." Has your oven had time to cool?

According to the manufacturer's website you should only need to Press and hold the "Lock" key for 5 seconds. A single tone will sound and the "Loc" will disappear off the display.
