Hi all, I've just bought a yamaha rx-v461 amplifier. I'd like to know, with regards to Speakers A & B, if I can have both running together. I can't seem to work it out ?

Thanks very much. I've only used this site a couple of times and have to say that it's pretty bloody good.

    Thanks again

I own a Yamaha RX-V461 and since making a few changes, new Bravia TV and BLu-Ray DVD player, I no longer jhave sub woofer output. I bought a new sub woofer cable and even bought a new Polk 8" 300watt sub....

You can reset the settings to factory defaults via the Advanced menu - it should be in your manual (I have RX-V465).
Do it from the standby mode.
Press the STANDBY button on front panel (not remote) together with STRAIGHT button on the front panel. Now you are in the Advanced Setup. Scroll to the INIT menu and select ALL.
Now you will have all settings in the default.

Need a hookup diagram for yamaha rx-v461 plus yamaha yst-sw216 please

Hi,
Here you can find the manual for your subwoofer. Looking at its back side, it has 2 RCA plug input for stereo. Receiver has just mono sub output, but as low frequencies are not easily locatable, mono is perfectly OK.
Just connect receiver SUB-OUTPUT with RCA cable to your subwoofer's RCA LEFT input. Then adjust volume to match rest of your speakers.

Yamaha rx-v461 not working

you have a faulty circuit somewhere, whether its in speaker wiring, or power source, i dont know, but your reciever has an automatic circuit breaker in it for protection, and a faulty circuit will trip it, i would assume it is a power source problem since it wont turn back on, check wiring, plugs and look around, and smell for burnt, or hot components.
