I have had this stereo (with DVD player) about 3 years, and recently the DVD player has been coming up with 'NO DISC' when I try and play DVDs, it whirrs a couple of times and then just displays 'NO DISC' after about 10 seconds This problem occurs no matter what disc slot I use (it is a 5 disc changer). I've tried leaving it a while, turning on and off. leaving off for a couple of days then trying, and even giving it a bit of a blow in case any dust was in front of the laser Any advice? Or does anyone know where I could potentially get a replacement unit that would be identical in appearance and not look out of place in the middle of the stack? Thanks
I too had this problem, the laser had become stuck,a gentle clean with a q tip did just the job.

It's probably just the laser eye. I's have a pro take a look at it, shouldn't be too complicated to fix.

Im sorry man i gotta step into this!! Never ever go and send a Blast of air into a lens assy. it can not only ruin the sensitive membrain that holds the lens assy in place it can also knock the assy out of alighnment.. If you need to clean a laser lens assy you need to go into the unit with a small non q tip type device as a shammy cloth works fine and lightly clean the surface of the lens only if you tryed to use a lens cleaner before. but using a blast of air is the wrong thing to do man!!!!!!!!!

thanks a lot electro, is it worth giving it a blast with an air cannister or is this more likely to dislodge the laser eye etc ?
god only knows where i'll find someone to take at look at this, think I ordered it off a .com site and definately outside the warranty :(
cheers techman, luckily I havnt had a chance to blast any air into it yet (I dont think that me blowing into did would've done much damage!) so will opening it up carefully and giving it a light rub
