I have a craftsman jigsaw(scroll) that I got for Christmas last year. The blade comes out in the middle of my cut some time. Is there a problem with this type of jigsaw?? I have sanded the top of the blade just a little and it stills comes out during a cut. I also blow out the area where the blade is inserted, and the blade still comes out. Help

Most of the time the cause for this is applying to much pressure on the blade as you are cutting. Remember, the blade does the cutting and you are guiding the jigsaw around the cut. This can strip the blade and wear the top of the mount. Adjust the way you cut and you should not have any problems.

Benefits of using a scroll saw

Some times there are woodworking projects that you will want to do that can be very difficult to do with a regular power saw. There are several big benefits to using a scroll saw over other saws due to its ease of use and control.

Lets say that you want to make a jigsaw puzzle, you could use a jigsaw saw that has to be mounted on a table because they are difficult to control or you could use a scroll saw that is a mounted saw to begin with. You will also find that a scroll saw allows for more control and has much less vibration than a jigsaw.

The cuts that a scroll saw make are so smooth that in most cases you won't need to sand down the edges. This is a really helpful feature when you are working on cutting difficult to get into angles and cutting inside a piece.

The ability to make an interal cut without having to start the cut from the edge of the piece of wood a huge advantage over most other saws. When you want to make a cut out all you have to do is drill a hole in the area you want to cut out, and then slide the blade through the hole and use the scroll saw to cut out the edges. There is also a foot pedal that you can use so that you can keep both hands on the piece so it doesn't run away when the blade starts moving.

Many power tools tend to be very loud, which lends themselves to the user working alone with earplugs of some other forms of hearing protection. The scross saw is a very quiet power tool that is perfect for you to teach your kids about the art of woodworking. And it is safe enough that they can use it to build their own model airplanes and artwork.

When cutting straight with my jigsaw the blade floats even though it is in the lock position

There is a speed and angle ratio that must be observed . Depending on the density of the material and the thickness. The shoe plate can be raised or lowered to assist with the forenamed floating condition. Proper blade selection and sharpness is essential.

With thick materials pushing the blades design, speed and force must be regulated through patience to provide the accuracy you demand. The complete blade system is another part of your investment . Understanding what and when can overcome fast if problems arise. Assuming all of this is in your tool box. I always have been taught. Only adapt when all reason is exhausted.

The last part I have had happen is vibration and tool integrity. Maintaining a tight fastener system all over the tool by lubrication is paramount from use or lack of it. Preventive measures spot stuff from happening when you are making the million dollar cut. But we all know that. Daily or startup practice. Just like stretching before playing, a great coach takes the time to do it for their selves too.

Problem guiding the direction of cut with a jigsaw.

check that surface plate is square with the blade.don't push too hard,or force the saw,let it cut at it's own speed, guide rather than force.a scroll saw or band saw is more accurate as you control the work piece instead of the tool.

I do not know to use the black and decker jigsaw.

Draw the circle pattern on the wood where you need it. Drill a 1/2 or 3/8 inch hole inside the circle, near the circle line. Insert the jigsaw blade into the hole and start cutting, following the line.

If you have the scrolling feature on your saw, don't use it, lock the scroll.

Blade misalignment

The 1590, like several Bosch jigsaws, has a selector switch to choose the type of cutting action. You have to choose the appropriate cutting action, either straight or oscillating, to accommodate the material you cut and the blade you cut with. For instance, if using a very slender blade for clean curved cuts in wood, a slight oscillating motion ( setting II or III) reduces friction on the blade.
If you choose the straight cutting action you get maximum accuracy, but drastically increase the friction because the blade is held firmly to the roller bearing.  A slender blade can handle that for brief periods, (say... less than thirty seconds) in soft, thin wood with a straight cut. In hard woods or engineered wood products ( plywood, MDF etc.) the thin blade will heat up and bend.
You can reduce friction by choosing an oscillating cutting motion, or you can use a larger, sturdier blade. The "Aggressor" blades do not cut as smoothly as the "clean" blades, but they cut faster and are stronger. To cut thick wood ( 4x4 ) or a long cut in engineered material, that is the blade I use. Select number III or number II for 'type-of-cut' and use a bigger blade. See if that stops the "bucking."
Good luck!
