Sony RM-YDO10 quit working

This remote was working just fine. I have replaced the batteries and have pressed the TV button. I have several Sony devices & the Sony DVD remote will turn the TV off & on in TV mode. I am currently using my Direct TV remote for the Hughes DVR receiver & it will turn the TV off & on.

No light comes out of the remote when buttons are pressed. I wonder if those bulbs can go bad??
I got this remote with the TV which is almost 2 yrs old.

I have the same problem with the Sony SLV-D-100. It appears the light at the end of the remote is not lighting up to send the signal.

Despite putting in new batteries the remote keys have to be pushed hard 3 or 4 times to get the tv to respond. The problem is slowly but continuously getting worse. Can the dealer repair this or is a new ( and hopefully more reliable ) remote necessary.

SOURCE: Sony RM-ASP001 for 400 disk changer stopped working

Try the command code switch. I recently had a similar problem when my remote suddenly stopped working. It worked fine one time but nothing the next time I tried it.

I checked the emitter with a digital camera and found it was not working. I did the remote reset (remove batteries and push all the buttons twice, reinsert batteries) and the emitter was now working. However, the remote would still not control the base unit. I did the remote base code reset (push power, volume and TV/DVD buttons together) but this did not help. I then checked the command code switch. This is a small three position slide switch located in the battery compartment on the remote. I slid the switch back and forth several times returning to the default number one setting where it was before. I did not change anything on the base unit but the remote now worked.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1) The remote is not communicating with any of the

I can give you several tips to try and see if we can get it going. First make sure you have the correct devise selected with the remote. For example if you are using it for the tv, make sure you have pushed the tv button on the remote first, and so on for all the other functions for your reciever. If this is not the problem try changing the batteries and make sure they are in correctly. Weak batteries will allow the red light to light up on the remote but it doesn't have the power to send the signal to the reciever. the other option is that the remote is simply wearing out, or has some type of dirt insde it not allowing the buttons to make contact with the metal strips inside the remote. You can sometimes find a store like Radio Shack that will be able to check and see if the remote is acdtually sending a signal, try calling around and see if someone has one of these detectors. If none of these help, try getting one of the universal remotes from a department store, they work with just about any brand of electronics and are much cheaper that a new remote. Here are a few links to sites that carry almost all brands of remotes in case you need a new one.
I hope this helped.

I have an sony rm-ez2 and i want it to work with my orion Model #tv1934 whats the code or will it work

As far as I can tell, Sony doesn't have any codes for Orion TVs. You can try searching through all of the codes in the remote. Turn on the TV, press and hold the Set button and then press the Power button. Release the buttons. Then press TV button (component button). Press the CH+ button followed by the Power button. Repeat the CH+ and Power combination until the TV responds (powers off, changes channel). Then press ENT. Check if the TV responds to the remote on other functions. If it doesn't repeat the steps from press and hold the Set button.
This can take up to 70 tries.

Alternatively, try a replacement remote for the TV or a USB programmable universal remote. http://www.remotes.com/store/orion/tv1934.html is a substitute remote that should handle all of the functions.

I hope this helps.

My sony kv-36xbr450 quit responding to the remote (rm-y184). I put new batteries and the remote lights work when pushing buttons. Is there a way to reset or check the remote ?

it is most likely the remote receiver inside the tv. you can verify this by using a universal remote. if you cant get it to work the receiver is bad.
