Re: problems with screen
Problam can be with cable, screen, or xbox. try replacing cable first, it is the cheapest and therefore can save you alot of pain. if another cable doesnt solve it, try hooking xbox with another screem (TV or something), if it works, its a screen problem - check for overheating. if it doesnt, you got yourself a messed xbox im afraid.
Im having the exact same issue! I also have the joytech cable. Maybe it is the cable. I am running it with a 19 inch lcd widescreen PC monitor.
Having said that, the problem has only started in the last couple of weeks, has MS released a firmware update that may be causing this??

It may be that your cable box is outputting at a resolution your TV doesn't recognise or doesn't support. Do you have any other connection you can use from your cable box to your TV to check the settings?
If the power light remains on after it goes black, the problem is the inverter board that powers the back light behind the screen, the cause is usually bad capacitors. To fix it, the board must be replaced or attempt made to repair the inverter board.
RETURN THE TV AS FAST AS YOU CAN, it sounds like the panel is about to go bad, invest in a brand that is known for manufacturing TVs, (Samsung,Sony,LG,Panasonic,Toshiba,Mitsubishi, etc.)
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR WITH TVs these days, don't short yourself it will cost far less in the long run!!!! Good Luck !
Well here's the problem the towel trick. Ok the problem with the 360s for the most part is small cracks in the solder which causes a bunch of problem from rrod to this. The towel trick heats up the 360 enough to get the solder flowing again thus providing for a temporary fix. The problem is the solder goes places is shouldn't, thus towel trick ends up messing the 360 up more then it helps. My advice send it in, hopefully you still have the warrenty.
