This is a problem that turned up after years of problem fee use of the Symantec Winfax Pro 10. When I try to send a fax from a program like the office programs, the document appears empty in the sending window. The document doesn?t get sent.
I?ve checked, and the Winfax printer is installed properly. I have win XP SP2 and apart from the winfax problem, everything is working fine.
I?ve tried to remove the program an reinstall, but the problem persists.
What do I do?

Re:
This is a solution that was suggested for an earlier edition of the Winfax Pro, but there is no reason why it shouldn?t work on this one as well:
1. Close Winfax and any other program that has anything to do with it, delete all the temp files that yo don?t need.
2. Run Scandisk and fix any problems that may come up.
3. Run delfix.exe which is located in the winfax folder in the status files.
4. Run delfix-rebuild and delfix-optimize and check if the problem is solved.
If the problem reoccurs there is another possibility- to change the name of the WinFax\data folder and create a new one which you will transfer the address book file, status files etc. from the old folder. Note that there might be some information that wouldn?t go through.

The internet connection that you use doesn't matter with WinFax, since WinFax requires a fax modem to send and receive faxes. You cannotuse your broadband modem to send receive faxes with WinFax PRO. http://www.getfaxing.com/forums
write back, i have included the below in case you fall into this cattegory
Don’t get duped into buying a counterfeit WinFax PRO 10 CD ROM. Here is how you can tell the difference from a “real” CD ROM and the obvious fakes. If you purchased your Symantec WinFax PRO with a box and manual, chances are it is the genuine item. If you purchased a “loose” CD ROM, usually referred as “OEM”, then you should check for the following:
Symantec never included the actual revision of WinFax PRO 10 (10.01,10.02 or 10.03) on the CD ROM. So, if your WinFax PRO CD ROM says “WinFax PRO 10.03′ its a fake. All genuine WinFax PRO 10 cd’s contain the heading ”WinFax PRO 10.0′
If you see text with “winFAX” or “Live Update” anywhere on the CD its a fake. The official Symantec trademarks are ”WinFax” and “LiveUpdate”, no other variations of this text should appear on the CD ROM.
Failure to capitalize ”symantec” and “corporation”.
An “All rights resverd” spelling error, or other spelling errors.
Incorrect font used for WinFax PRO and Symantec logo. The current Symantec logo is consistant across all software they produce.
Silver portion of CD is a (dull) matte finish, on the real CD it is relective (mirror surface).
To determine if the CD is brand new and sealed – geniune WinFax PRO 10 CD’s come in a white envelope sleeve that are sealed with a sticker that may have one or more of the following: a bar code, a Symantec 5 or 6 digit product code, a brief license agreement.
In most cases, manufacturer information is printed on the inner rim of the CD ROM of genuine CD’s. This is usually missing on a counterfeit.
Update patch 10.04 is not included on genuine CD ROMs. Any CD that contains the patch update to 10.04 is a counterfeit
I have got winfax pro some years back I have now upgarded my Operating System to window 7, but I get the message incompalable with window 7 can you please help
You need a fax modem. If you only have internet connection, you will not be able to send or receive faxes unless you subscribe to an internet fax service called www concordfax.com
To create the message store folder:
1. Close WinFax and the WinFax Controller.
2. If you are running Windows NT, 2000, or XP, stop the WinFax service. If you don't know how to do this, read the document How to start or stop a service in Windows.
3. Using Windows Explorer, locate and then double-click the Symantec WinFax Pro folder.
4. Click File.
5. Point to New, and then click Folder.
6. Give the new folder a name (My Faxes, for example) and press Enter.
7. Close Windows Explorer.
Installing fax software can be tricky, particularly if you want to import phone-book listings from an existing database or PIM, such as Microsoft Outlook. But WinFax Pro proves easy to configure. A series of introductory screens walks you through installation; you just click Next to accept the default configuration. In our tests, WinFax Pro accurately detected our fax modem and seamlessly imported our contacts from Microsoft Outlook. By comparison, competing fax programs either don't import directly from Outlook or make the process trickier than it needs to be. you can try to look on website and there will explain to you. http://reviews.cnet.com/e-mail/winfax-pro-10-0/4505-3536_7-1536745.html
