Turn off at mains
undo clamp that holds seal to cabinet and peel seal away from cabinet.
take worktop off
undo clamp that holds seal to tub and seal will then come away
on new seal, lubricate the slot in the seal that goes onto lip of tub with washing up fluid
starting at top, insert slot in seal onto lip of tub and work you way round in both directions till seal is entirely on tub.
replace clamp
fit seal to cabinet (this is easy) and refit outer clamp.
test on rinse cycle as water level is higher. water will foam till washing up fluid is washed away

We wish to replace the rubber doorseal on Hotpoint WMA42P. I can remove the door seal ring but cannot quite see how the drum seal is fixed. Is it the same system with a sprung ring? Martyn

The following video is of a Hotpoint WF door seal replacement which is the same as the WMA series except the fascia panel is slightly different, make sure you take a photo of the wiring connections before you remove the fascia so you know where they go when you replace it

Fit a new door on a washing machine

You need to remove the wire clamp that holds the door seal on to the front of the cabinet, then pull seal off.
This will give you access to the door hinge assy, then you can replace the door complete.

Thankyou.

Washing mashine shows door not locked

There will be a retaining band on the inside lip of door seal, on the front of the cabinet.
Insert a small screwdriver or similar into the lip of the door seal, there you should see the band, prise it off, and then pull the seal of the front of the cabinet.
Reassemble in reverse order.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

How to change a door seal on a hotpoint wma58

Firstly remove band holding front of seal then remove the screws from the door lock and push lock through.
Remove kick plate from bottom of machine &take out 2 screws holding front of machine.
Remove soap drawer &take out screws behind it then bring facia forward & slide to right to remove. Take care at this stage not to disturb wiring on cicuit board. An extra pair of hands would be helpfull to hold it.
Remove screws holding front as you did at bottom then lift and remove front panel.
Seal is now easily accessed.
Post back if any further assistance needed.
Thankyou for using Fixya.

HOTPOINT AQUARIUS WF250

it may be the interlock but is more probably the control PCB in the fascia, this is not a DIY repair as it requires programming when replaced.

DOOR WILL NOT LOCK

assuming that you didfi not unwire ther door lock, the problem is probably just that the door seal just needs bedding in and you should be able to start by closing more firmly and pushing in till the door lock catches. did you properly seat the door boot on the cabinet?
