Ok sometimes this happen and the bottom bar of the screen disappears with the destop icons so go to task manager by clicking Ctrl+Alt+Delete and click on 'New Task' and type in 'explorer.exe' and it should come up. You should do this everytime when you start your computer if the icon disappears everytime.

I need to get my icon back on my computer it was there today but gone tonight how to get it back

Are you talking about the Internet Explorer Icon, if so click Start/Programs and look for Internet Explorer. Right Click on it and then select Send To/Desktop (create shortcut)

Your internet explorer will now be on your desktop.

If it is not report back and we will have to manually search your hard drive for it.

I cant find my lenovo webcam shortcut on my desktop

What was the icon called?
Try clicking on the Windows button at the bottom left (start menu), and in the Search at the bottom, type Lenovo and give it a second. The search should find that icon your looking for. When you see it, right click it, and drag that icon to the desktop! Hope this helps.
Thanks for using FixYa.

There is no icon on desktop belongs to internet explorer8

Hi.
What you could do is to open the start menu - click Search and give/search for explorer.
You will now see a list of icons etc containing the word explorer.
You will for sure recognize the Icon for explorer8.
Now you right click on the icon - use the copy function.
Close down the search function and place the cursor on the desktop - right click and chose the Insert function.
Your startup icon is now placed on your desktop

Need to know how to get back my icon to

the desktop icon was only a shortcut to the actual command icon located in your c: drive on your computer. simply run a search on all files and folders with the descrition (ezonics) in the search area. this will direct you to the location of the original install and you can find the icon and create a new shortcut on your desktop by right clicking it and selecting send shortcut to desktop.

Windows Vista Ultimate: Recycle Bin

If you find that when your Recycle Bin does not refresh but shows the same icon, irrespective of whether it is empty or full, here are some trouble-shooting steps you can try. Hopefully, one of these 5, should help you. 1) Check if you have installed any Theme or an Icon Package, and see if uninstalling it makes the problem go away. if so then the problem is in the Theme or Package. Also try switching the theme to Windows Classic theme and them back to Vista Aero default. 2) Right-click Desktop > Personalize > Change desktop icons > Disable / Uncheck Recycle Bin. Then click Restore Defaults. Click OK. Reboot. Now using the same method Enable /Check Recycle Bin, then restore defaults. Click OK. Refresh Desktop. 3) In the 'Desktop Icons settings' Dialog Box, check on Recycle Bin.
Then click on the ‘Recycle Bin Empty’ icon.
Click on 'Change Icon' tab.
rom the new box which opens, select the icon that shows the 'Recycle Bin Full'.
Do the same for 'Recycle Bin Full' icon.
Change it to 'Recycle Bin Empty' icon.
Now click Apply.
Now check whether, when the Recycle Bin is full, the empty-icon show. And vice versa.
If it does, go back and again change back the icons, to what they should be, using the same procedure, mentioned above. 4) Use the Group Policy Object Editor.
Type gpedit.msc in Vista's Start Menu Search bar and hit enter.
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Desktop > Remove Recycle Bin icon from desktop > Double click on it > Enable > Apply Reboot.
Next, follow the same above-mentioned steps. But this time instead of 'Enable' select 'Not Configured.
See if it helps. 5) Repair or Re-build the Icon Cache. For this the easiest way would be to download and use TuneUp Utilities or Stardocks Icon Packager. They are not freeware, but you can use the trial versions to get your job done.

My desktop is blank all icons are gone with icon tray !

- Open Task Manager
- Terminate Explorer.exe (may of hung on start up) on the Processes Tab
- Back on the Applications Tab, click on New Task and type explorer after about a minute does the start menu and windows bar come back?
- If so download all the latest virus defs for your AV software and also the latest (and free) spybot search and destroy 1.6.2 - do a sweep for both spyware and software and remove all and reboot your PC.

This should help you - if not joy I would boot into Safe Mode and look at a system restore point. Also look for any unusual processes that are running in Task Manager - or ones you don't recognize since you last looked at them - if one looks dodgy, do a google search on it to see if its harmful and should be killed.

Good Luck
