Try adjusting from menu on remote control. BTW how old is your tv.?

Hey i have a panasonic 56 inch tv and there is no picture to the thing. any sugestions?

Your flux is bad.

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.

Yes there is a repair kit for your model which contains the two Convergence ICs and the 6 feed resistors. The kit alkso has step by step instructions with pictures so you can easily do the repair. Heres the link for the correct kit for your model.

I just had my HD DTV installed this weekend, you have to leave it on 480p. I too purchased my tv in 2002. Per DTV, its an older model and you have to stay with the 480p to get the best possible picture. I have to admit, don't know what the 1080i looks like, but 480p is showing me a very good picture. Best I have ever seen on my TV.

Go into your service menu and try to adjust the convergence, if it does not adjust, the IC's ( chips) are bad in that circuit. Call a local factory authorized dealer to service your tv. The cost should run around $450.00. Good luck.

turn off the color and see if its still ther if so possible convergence  alignment.
