Did you ever figure out what was causing it? I’m having the same problem. Dissembled and cleaned it completely, but it’s still doing the same thing.
Try cleaning the Flow Indicator Filter. Turn the Flow Indicator Cap counter-clockwise to remove, lift rotor and filter. Clean filter and replace in reverse order. Bissell's Consumer Care # 1-800-237-7691
The 7920 is a 220 volt version of the 7901. I found a shop in New Zealand of all places that has service manuals on line. They are sort of picture books, but using them has saved me a lot of money as it makes repairing much easier. Here's the link you'll need. Good luck. The belt has broken and needs replaced. bissell uses a belt driven pump. ther ar two belts, one for the brush, and one for the pump. all can be replaced through the belt access on the left hand side of the machine.
